2 questions for you guys lol

1. do any of you 'members' carry a pocket knife? which stone are you using to sharpen the blade?

2. any members have experience with HQ binocular' or monocular's for hunting? do not want to spend thousands of dollars although I understand the point of greatglass.

not going hunting with a gun, I'm a 'raven watcher'. ravens are smarter than chimps and dogs...

I've seen ravens do amazing stuff... for instance a model had a 'rage attack' while on set, not all that uncommon. I don't even remember why to be honest about... so she went outside and ran around screaming and yelling for about 10 minutes... when she was done we actually finished the shoot...

the next day the ravens hit me up... it work like this: in my area ravens usually are in a group or 3. 1 raven is over watch and the other 2 ravens hunt etc.. gotta figure they trade off but I can't tell them apart.

so the over watch bird will start 'yelling' and when I find the other 2 birds I get the message... yeah no shit... the message was this: one bird dropped out the tree and started flying back and forth, yelling like a mother fucker about 5 feet off the ground right in front of me... the bird was going back and forth about 15 feet. the bird did that about 6-7 times and jumped back up the tree and sat and looked at me, like WTF... lol

- carried a knife most of my life, started when I was a kid... my granddad gave me a knife when I was about 8... in the country a knife is always useful.

then when I started working I generally had a knife, at first bucks then Gerber's. as a cook, heavy equipment operator, truck driver, iron worker, stage hand or producer, a knife always comes in handy to cut some rope or dig something out of something etc.

I decided to get another pocket knife the other day. I always need to open something or cut something whatever... thing is the knife got's to be sharp....

I have 8 Spydercos (each one a different model) and a Boker switchblade. I can open any of the Spyderco knives faster with one hand than my switchblade opens, so I carry a Spyderco. I've been carrying them for 30 years, started when the Civilian came out and then carried a ParaMilitary, then Police model, and just kept adding to the collection.

they called OTF now, (out the front) not switchblades... my arthritis precludes using a thumb to flick the knife open... when I was younger no problem... so I carry an OTF now..

seems excessive for a pocket knife, diamond dust chef stone would of been my recommendation, but that and the belt will grind your blade away the fastest.

I love knives in general. Probably got that from my pops and grandfather, who both collected knives and were pretty good at throwing knives and other fun stuff.

I have a few Spydercos and way too many Benchmades for my EDC's. I've got a fair amount of custom blades from small artisan places, too.
