I think it's already a pretty bad sign that so many people rather put in millions of fiat into shitty tokens (which don't even try to hide the fact that they serve no purpose at all).

Colonial Pipeline Ransomware attack bitch payback time looks like it. Hackers aren’t so pleased right now.

So many factors but the immediate impacts are:
1. Vitalik Buterin donated $1B worth of cryptos to India for Covid relief. Thus crashing meme coins like SHIBA, AKITA, ELON. (which was just a gift for him)
2. Elon tweeting he no longer accepts BTC for Tesla.

I figured he would start pimping some random proof of stake coin next.

"Tesla will not be selling any bitcoin".

Perhaps he should read the papers a bit more often, because as well as bitcoin's negative impact on the environment not being news to anyone, Telsa dumped 10% of its bitcoin only the other week. And here he is now crashing the price on everyone who bought their bags. I wonder if they'll now buy back some cheap $49k coins, or if there's some limit to how blatant this all gets.

It'll bounce back. BTC's environmental impact has not changed at all. It was using electricity before and after his statement, thus nothing has really changed.

The thing is, he didn't REALLY influence it. Some speculators thought OH FUCK ELON TWEETED THIS BETTER SELL BECAUSE IT WILL INFLUENCE THE PRICE.
And it's those people THINKING that he has some influence on it selling, thus making it self-fulfilling.

But I was referring to his tweets about Verge and such. Which all pumped 10x, 20x and even 25x right after he published those tweets.

I see a bigger problem. All banks and investment funds wants to be Green. If there is now the rumour it isn't clean + that it is mined with approval of the Paris Climate Agreement (China can use more coal) there could be a downtrend. Pensionfunds in Holland are already stopping with stocks in Oil Companies etcetra. I expect some funds will say they stop investing in Bitcoin.

What are green coins? I remember Burst profiled itself as green (still way down 2018 prices).

How is it possible that he didn't know that bitcoins must be mined, like a gold mine, coal mine. I also never heard of bitcoin mining. Elon wants 1 thing, becoming multi multi billionaire.
