New Cell Phone Day

Got my new cell phone today. I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and.... Time to upgrade. New Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Who doesn't love new cell phone day?

RyuLion 05-17-2021 10:42 PM

I don't. I rather celebrate when ever I sign up a new client. :)

my S9 is 3 years old this summer and I'm thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G soon. I don't want the S21 because they took away the headphone jack and you can't add a memory card.

Congrats on the new phone :thumbsup

I went 'Backwards' ? from a high end Samsung to a Pixel 4a. No bloatware and a 'pure' android experience. Much prefer it.

Is it good? I heard it has (or had) battery draining issues. I need a new phone and was thinking about buying a Galaxy S21... Thanks.

I bought my s7 in 2016 and it is still working... Have changed a few cell phones since then, but only s7 is still working :thumbsup

Don't need memory. Everything I do is online. I use Google Photos so all of my photos are uploaded online.

No need for a headphone jack. Who uses a headphone jack. You can buy bluetooth headphones for $10 on Amazon.

Scott McD 05-18-2021 02:28 PM

I'm on S10 just now by due my upgrade which will be the S21 in July.

As for loving new cell fone day ? I usually find it quite stressful. Making sure everything is running as it should, passwords, nothing missing blah blah. Usually always fine of course, but much prefer the day after when you know everything is working and you can start fucking about with the new features and camera and stuff... :pimp

I have over 20 gigs of music and I don't keep any photos online but then again photos aren't that big of a deal. I just don't like to be limited when it comes to storage. Yes, I have Bluetooth headphones and earbuds but I like the option to use wired as I do on my laptop.

For me, it's just they like charging you more for the larger storage and I refuse to pay over a grand for a stupid cellphone. The S20 is $750 and gets 5G

Twenty gigs of music... Why? I used to be the guy who had to have every song I ever owned in my car. I used to have a zillion CDs in those dumb ass binders, and and a CD player in the trunk. Then I got an iPod. (Don't tell anyone I owned an iPod please.) In fact, I had my iPod until about two years ago when it finally died. Now I have Amazon music. I have access to nearly every song ever created. Using Amazon Alexa I an stream it in any room of my house, any PC, any laptop, my cell phone, and... my car.

Headphones.... Again, bluetooth baby. I can connect my headphones to any device with bluetooth. It's fantastic.

I tend to be slow to adapt to new tech... I thought I was the last one to do streaming music. I guess not.

1. Amazon Alexa is missing all kinds of stuff
2. Amazon Alexa does no good when power or Internet are not available
3. Amazon Alexa is a bitch to navigate, though with voice it's probably no big deal
4. Amazon Alexa is not going to support custom downloaded content that you purchase, and maybe not all podcasts that you might be into

I use to use streaming but the 2 or 3 companies I tried went out of biz around 2010 so I like owning mp3 albums. I listen to some of the free with amazon prime streaming.

I have Netflix, hulu, hbo max, and amazon prime. I don't want to pay for prime music too

I love Amazon but I would never use alexa. I do use the Ring though.

The reason I don't like Bluetooth all the time is it cuts the battery life by a lot. I would use Bluetooth on a daily basis but on a road trip I would use wired

Amazon Music is a streaming service included with your Prime membership at no extra charge. If you're already paying for Amazon prime, then you might as well use their music service that comes with it at no additional cost.

The Pixel 4a 5G costs $499, has earphone jack and unlimited photo storage from google built in.

Who doesn't love a new laptop day. Right Rochard.

I got a new Android phone yesterday. It was free and I still have to learn how to use it. My iPhone is easy to use but I can’t find the Settings yet on the Android. The directions are basically useless and I plan to look at the information online.

I’m unfamiliar with Android so this ought to be fun!

I know this but you have to pay extra for most of the new music. I even said in my reply that I listen to some music from amazon :helpme
