I remember years ago when it was the old desktops....if it died it was like you lost all your shit !!

Obviously nowadays people have that shit backed the fuck up, but yeah had that experience before of basically everything......gone!

My laptop still working fine after 11 years after doing all kind of things to him. But yes time to buy new laptop as well.

New laptop time is coming for me as well soon. The question is MacBook or ThinkPad? Let's see...

You'd be surprised at how many people don't have even a single backup...

That feeling of booting up a brand new spec'd-out laptop (or PC or phone or whatever) after years of stalling because old faithful worked for so long... one of the best joys in life for me. Especially in the cloud storage age.

in 2020 i got a new gaming laptop to replace my 6-year-old laptop and it was so fast that I wished I had upgraded 3 years ago. I love SSD!

I keep most of my important stuff on external drives and upgrade externals every 2 years. never had one die on me

I had a laptop motherboard die on me recently. What a pain.
I ended up going back to a desktop.

Pornhub made me do it.

I remember the first time my PC died. This was back in the day when we built our own computers and I was in way over my head. I think I was trying to upgrade my hard drive or add another hard drive. This was back in the day when everything was complicated. I had go back to my computer guru, the guy who built my computer for me...

I used to have a huge Alienware laptop. It was fucking massive. I took it to Europe for a two week trip and.... Never again. Now I am into smaller laptops. I've had a few Surface Pros, and then moved into their laptops.

ASUS laptops are best in my book. Nothing beats a nice home built PC though.

Make sure you don't get a 4K screen. It sucks on a laptop and no programs are written to support it so Windows tries to work around it and it just plain sucks. Especially in Photoshop.

You can usually save a hard drive.
