nah, we broke up last year. had 12 amazing years and the last three were utter misery. I'm WAY happier now. was devastating at first but it had to be done

technically still married as we have to be separated for a year to file but I'm not stressed. only a few more months. no kids or shared assets so should be really easy, there's nothing to 'fight' over

Weddings are a lovely occasion for anyone, whether to be a guest or being the one to marry, however, many get married too fast these days...

while many last, many do not and so many just do it for a trend setter. I hope to marry, now, 23 years together, still in love, still enjoying each others company, together most days, enjoying to work together, when we cook, clean, sleep, wine and dine, we know each others thoughts, trust each other and want each other, so hopefully one day we will marry, maybe in another 10 or so years, a small wedding on the beach or the front of a boat here in Spain :thumbsup

Been married twenty-four years no. No issues. My wife handles anything I throw at her, and I've thrown some curve balls at her with zero warning. She's never said no. I have my hobbies, she has hers, we support each other. That's that.

You can still marry (which I don't recommend) and choose not to split your assets according to argentinean law . . .

Not saying that at all, nor am I am whatever-gist. I realize that part of that 50% who do NOT divorce have great marriages like you described, ones where they are true partners raising kids, building a life, etc.

My point is that ideal is getting less and less and less. Especially now with women being 100% flawless humans, as we all know. Men are being bashed, ridiculed, their livelihoods threatened, labeled this or that "ist", portrayed as inferior and stupid, all male role models having their balls cut off to supposedly be more "woke"....no man, things are getting much, much worse for men lately and marriage is now fraught with HUGE downsides (for men).

Do not do it. In the USA at least, prenups only last for 10 years. They are not a solution. If you have kids, they will suffer immeasurably in a divorce. If you have no money, you will die alone anyway. If you have money, you will not die alone either way. If she takes your money, you will die alone.

I am a happy married man. Married my wife 6 years ago, after living together for 14 years. We have two kids, 14 and 11 who enjoyed the wedding :) I don't regret it. Women seem to need this celebration, and as it was a nice opportunity to bring all friends from all periods of our lives together at a nice place. It was awesome, I don't regret it.

If you have a relationship, and things are going not-so-well, it is easier to step out and look for a better partner. If you are married, you will put more effort in Fixing the actual issues, and this works. At least for me.

It depends. If you can look at the person you're with and truly see yourself grow old with them, then sure. But in order to be able to truly do that, you must know that person extremely well.

The issue with marriage these days is that people are so quick to rush into it. I made the same mistake, twice. If you haven't been and lived with someone for at least 5 years, or haven't grown up with them, there is no way in hell you know each other well enough to make such a commitment.

You are right. In my case, it was enough to have a few serious psychedelic trips together. Acid and Mushrooms as well.
