Need Appraisal

AdultGalleries.com

Gets small but constant type in traffic.

How much do you think it worth?

Thanks.

CurrentlySober 06-16-2021 12:33 PM

Sorry to give you the 'glib' answer, but the truthful answer is that its worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it, and not a penny more...

I feel yah though... I have a few names that I would possibly part with, but cant be assed because of the valuation issues. The value is in the eye of the purchaser - Not the seller...

CaptainHowdy 06-16-2021 12:34 PM

You only come to GFY to undervalue your domain name(s) . . .

ZTT 06-16-2021 04:49 PM

AdultGalleries is a great name for 20 years ago (or for you to develop with adult galleries). Unfortunately it's not 20 years ago any more, and you can easily buy decent alternative domains for $8.

So if I can't get adultgalleries for less than $2,000, I'll just get adultsexgalleries. An additional short keyword just saved me $1992 and nobody visiting even cares what the domain is.

The only exceptions are one word .coms which can sell for 5-7 figures. But even there, when or what was the last big adult domain sale?

Pretty much.

I doubt I'd pay more than $10 for the OP's domain name... if that included taxes. :thumbsup

Here's my suggestion:

Sign up with an ad broker or to an affiliate program and post a few ads on the domain.

After a month, you should have a decent read on the traffic coming to your site. If you're getting actual clicks and even a sale, then you'd have some data that you could use to impart a value to your domain.

Ideally, you'd add an analytics tool so you could get more information about your traffic sources and demographics.

This kind of data about your traffic would be what drives the value, not the domain name itself.

Godaddy appraisal tool. However the domain is listed for sale as a Premium GoDaddty domain and its for sale at bin of $5,000 :):):)

Denny 06-17-2021 01:46 AM

Registration fee.

ZTT 06-17-2021 02:18 AM

Godaddy appraisal means nothing, like all other appraisals. As a random example, PhoneAdult.com is supposedly worth $1.5k, and yet it's not even registered.

They pull a number based on random sales of other domains, which often sold in a different internet era, about 15 years ago, and with no consideration of the sold domain's traffic, buyer need for the exact term or if it came with a website.

(Obviously the intention with Godaddy is to get you to buy (and overpay) a name from them.)

The other day I was helping a client transfer their Go Daddy domains and noticed another creative little thing Go Daddy does. They place an appraisal *cough* of your domain right in the admin, making people think that every precious domain they have is worth a significant amount of money so that they continue to renew the domain at stupid high rates year after year.

Good point.

DBS.US 06-17-2021 05:56 PM

Make up a great logo and put it on Ebay with a high reserve.

IAW 06-17-2021 06:05 PM

poopbay blocked my account

IAW 06-17-2021 06:08 PM

poopbay overcharges for reserve auctions, is it not $250 to run a reserve auction?

I'm almost impressed at how scuzzy that is, even for GD. I think their .com renewals are about twice everywhere else too.

The sales system is almost predatory. The typical Go Daddy client is not our target clientele, but we do get a lot of clients from Go Daddy because I'll be talking to somebody and they say "hey I'm paying $50 a month and I need to do all of this weird stuff to access my Outlook, does that sound right to you?" Uh, no, let me help.

IAW 06-17-2021 06:54 PM

eat their lunch Sly!

IAW 06-21-2021 12:57 PM

Any other opinions? I like the domain but dont know how your industry perceives value.
