JOURNEY: I have finally created a brand new personal CMS from scratch literally..
 

First, I AM not a coder.. more of a webmaster. know some css.
I can't build a responsive website from scratch type.

So I finally finished my Barebones CMS (-ALL READ, NO WRITE), ULTRA fast, ULTRA light weight, scores 99-100% on insights.. etc
Note that this script is just BARE BONES. No fancy stuff like mechbunny or adultpro script, etc..
Basically it has 5 fields via admin
- Title
- Permalink URL
- Description
- Tags
- Video Code

corePHP was used for front end < I wanted near static level
Laraval used for admin module

My Journey-

took 3 months of careful designing / planning / documenting every corner of the design
2 1/2 more months of endlessly jumping from coder to coder and getting the security issues fixed from FIVERR CODER! I have only used upWORK after FIVERR.. Including
- Pixel perfect design
- Endlessly interviewing each coder, searching...
- American programmers are just straight up expensive @ 60 to $120 per hour. I feel like they'll just outsource the work whenever if hire them. Specially the old looking US coders via profile.

I still had TO do some things myself. it doesn't matter how much you pay them, there are some things some of the people on there can't do.. that ONLY i'm able to do pixel perfect wise.

- Besides the terrible coding. Fiverr was a bitch because I had to explain to each coder what I needed over and over.
- You will need to hire security experts and gather everything they told you about your script and ask the potential coders what the security experts tells you to filter out the bad ones.

BUT anyway, I am finally free from Commerical scripts, and WORDPRESS. Wooo.

No more patching, no more SQL injections, no more hacks, ultra fast.

Originally, i thought i could get away with this for $1000 to 1200 USD but i think it costed me near $2k all in all..
The part that took the longest was the endless chatting with devs

did what i did couple years back and scale into different adult categories WITHOUT worrying too much of XSS bot injections and patch updates and plugins.. and high server cost.
I am dying to see this day to start making content and making money from traffic. CROSS MY FINGERS. I left adult industry due to the XSS injections across my wordpress themed sites that was never ending..

This is designed for shared hosting, plug and play, no server configuration.

The admin module and front end module can function separately. Meaning,

Advantage
1. lets say i finished adding content, i can delete the admin script and front end will run just fine.

2. I can have new developers upgrade front end and remove my back end completely so nobody can ever get a hold 100% of the script and re sell em, etc.

3. Its just for me.. not selling.
4. I posted this just to give people who are thinking of creating their own and breaking free from commerical tube sites and wordpress..

But isn't this always the case? As the admin panel is nothing more then a front-end to control the backend (database)... your web pages just load the content from the database. So, I don't see why any website would require an admin panel in order to "function". ;)

dealing with new devs is always a lengthy process; but once you find one that's reliable and works well with you hold on to them!

I don't understand this? You hired freelancers to create something that you could have had ready made from scratch, just that now you have it in a poorly developed version with lack of features?

Also 60 - 120 dollars for USA based engineers is straight up cheap if they are any good at all.

Since the "backend" sounds like a one page form with five inputs I don't see the need for an "admin panel" on the webserver at all (let alone Lavarel). As it's described in the OP you could do it with an offline page, or just a one line GET request.

I fully support the ideology of minimalism in web design, only having features you need/use and avoiding bloat, but would only recommend it if you can truly DIY (that its, not rely on assorted randos of unknown competence or malice).

Anyone who can't or doesn't want to DIY should simply use tried and tested existing scripts.

I'm no fan of Wordpress due to its size, but it would not be running 30% of the entire internet if it was inherently insecure. The main reason people get hit is because they use out of date/unpatched versions of the core software, plugins or themes, pick insecure passwords or don't change the location of the admin page.

we're past the days when it is a good idea to build a cms from "scratch". lots of other good shit to build these days that will actually make money.

I would hire the 100$ per hour, but i'd like to re-validate my idea once again first. So, I didn't want to put too much money into that I haven't "re-validated". It "maybe" shitty for you the way it sounds but not for me, it is very convenient. The front end is amazing on how it looks for something that uses very minimal resources.

Anyways thanks to those who congratulated. It was a process I didn't think it was "tough" because of its simplicity. But it was still very tough.

I did hire an american to do a 1 page PSD to HTML/CSS responsive. 100% rating via upwork, and man, it was like puling teeth trying to communicate with this guy. Costed me $500 for pixel perfect 1 page. It wasn't pixel perfect because it took days for him to make 1 change. So i just had to find someone else that did 2nd page for $150 from offshore
