Anyone ever try advertising a paysite in a newspaper or magazine?

Also now that many people have faster access and dedicated access I think its worth trying even if 2 years ago it wasnt that good.

i've been thinking about trying it out for a new project. then again, i won't be running an actual porn site.

necoeds has a banner in a downtown bar that actually works pretty well. gets a few sus every weekend off of it, from what i hear.

with a local site, you can brand it, such as that site. there's nary a person at the university that _doesn't_ know about it, methinks. tshirts, stuff like that, when you're out partying seems to get a few. not monumental, but we aren't talking about a very big campaign.

i wonder though, for the less-offensive-sounding sites, advertising in mainstream magazines and stuff (like maxim, etc) would be pretty good. possibly trying press releases, that sort.

i want a billboard, but i'm not sure if that will fly :)

I had the URL for one of my first sites plastered in about 8 different adult mags each month in a little 2 line text ad for a couple years. It didn't even cost me anything which was really cool. I never expected much, but it pulled like crazy.

You have to be very good at negotiating when buying traditional media. There's all sorts of techniques to use to get rock bottom prices which is the key.

You also want to find ways to get free PR as well. There are all sorts of ways to do that too.

My wife and I just went on a adult vacation lol Went to swinger clubs and adult stores from Arkansas to Florida. I saw a few things that looked like it would work very well.

In the swing clubs and adult stores they had 5 x 7 very nicely printed cards advertising there websites. Pretty big selection of them 2...At the first of the night at the club, they started with a big stack of all of them...at the end of the night everything on the rack was gone...cost $125 bucks just to get in the door...so most the people had money...should convert well.

Hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of those "girls" signing up for your spanking site are guys or TS/TV fantasizing about being the girl in the flic. I know because in customer correspondance, service issues, etc with my own spanking sites it eventually comes out.
