The random info throw is to raise awareness. Those Americans that 𝗱𝗼 use WhatsApp often only use it when they or their friends or family are travelling overseas - they do not see it as a valuable 𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 tool. :cool-as-a

But what's so special about Whatsapp? Can't you use basically any other messenger for business usage?

I've used it when I had to for random jobs and company things, but there are a ton of other apps that you can use instead that do the same thing. Telegram, Whatsapp, Signal, Skype, etc, all do the same thing for me. The only difference is which one the company tells me to use.

As I said, about one in five Americans use it. Over here in Europe, it's ubiquitous.

Zoom has certainly stolen Skype's thunder. I made a ton of money about 20 years ago selling mobile logos and ringtones. It only worked with Nokia phones, but back then they had about 50% market share. Look at them now.

Just about everyone in Europe has whatsapp but I have noticed a large amount of people in Poland switching over to Signal.

There was a big drama lama about what's app sharing user info to facebook, think in the end it was not implemented due EU laws, but damage was already done.

same with the Caribbean, pretty much everyone here uses it

I barely use my phone for calls or texts... I don't use apps. Christ, went to get some take out at a new place and they didn't have menus. All they had was a fucking bar code to scan with your phone. I didn't have my phone with me.... Unlike most people, I am not a slave to my cell phone. Everyone i know here in the UK has had WhatsApp for years.

I use WA and Telegram mostly, but most of my US partners use only WA for now, so you are right.
