New Here - Some Questions

Hello,

I just joined and would like to introduce myself to this community and get some newbie questions answered as well. I frequent sites like SA to meet sugarbabies and I exclusively only meet those who are open to being filmed (money talks!). I would love to get started in terms of trying to monetize this hobby of mine (or partially offsetting costs/breaking even). Questions below:

1.) For videos filmed in the past (with consent of course), but without 2257 documentation during that day - are those videos just never going to get legally monetized? I understand 2257 is a US law, so are there alternative avenues in terms of trying to monetize those (e.g. sites based in other countries)? Can I retroactively request permission to distribute/commercialize in order to comply with 2257?

2.) For future videos, I understand I basically need 2 documents: a.) 2257 document and b.) model release form. In order to fill out these two documents, I need to get photo identification (2 or 3 IDs) from the model. Anything else I'm missing? I would like to get started on MV or C4S. Are there other sites I should consider? I should say I am not a fan of subscription business model such as OF.

2.a.) For MV and C4S - what type of proof do they need? Ex: a picture of front/back drivers license + drivers license with model side by side. My understanding is that with mastercard - this has become more stringent lately and they immediately request documents before "publishing" any video with co-stars in it. I just want to make sure I do this right.

3.) Where do you all source college-aged models (18-23)? SA seems to work great for me, but only a subset of the population there is obviously willing to be recorded. Now with 2257 + model release, that subset becomes even smaller. I am aware of sexyjobs as well, but definitely looking for other avenues to source talent from.

Thanks in advance!

If you don't have a contract with a signature and a copy of the performers ID, that video is worthless and honestly you should destroy it.

Would it hold up in court if I got these retroactively, PRIOR to content distribution?

No.

You need those documents prior to filming.

I get MV, C4S and OF, but what is SA? SA to me just means Something Awful.

If you're not holding the camera, you're also going to need a work for hire, or you won't own the content you just paid for. The cameraman will.

Starting off small so it will just be me for now - but appreciate the note

ManyVids will provide you the model release they will need to sign, you'll also need a copy of their IDs, that's it I think.

Thanks to all - now curious what the going rate is to shoot a scene these days. Again - I work mostly with college amateurs (through SA) and 1.) getting them to agree to a shoot // 2.) getting them to agree to a shoot AND letting me distribute are two different things.

Would a $1,500 - $2,000 compensation be competitive in this market? Vanilla b/g

I am not a lawyer, but as far as I know yes. Date of production should be noted along with date of signature.

Also we are talking about two documents here... the 2257 proof of age document, as well as a model release granting you ownership of the content.

Smelly Ass? :thumbsup

Nah, they mean SeekingArrangement.com - Which now redirects to the shorter 'seeking' URL...

Isn't it smart, if you are paying the model, to mention that in the release? Money changing hands makes a deal solid.

Wouldn't this complicate things (ex: needing to give them a contractor 1099 form?)
