Those of you who have a truck
Do you put it through the automated car wash or clean it yourself?
One of our neighbors decided to drop concrete and rocks on the street to fix the potholes, but didn't give any consideration to all the neighborhood vehicles that were parked so they're all covered in concrete dust. I'm too lazy to wash it by hand, so was thinking of a drive-thru car wash, any experiences with them as a truck driver? Good idea? No? |
This is so New Orleans... I know Reddit had become a snowflake haven, but I'd like to recommend its subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NewOrleans/

I wash my cars with pressure washer + active soap. |
^ Good advice. Those bristles leave swirl marks.

My truck doesn't fit in automatic car washes. Roof rack on top of a fiberglass cap.

If it were simply 'dust' there would not have been an issue. |

I have an older Acura that my kids already destroyed the paint job on last winter when they realized that the snow (with mud in it) melted really fast on the black hood with the sun on it. They continued to swirl snow all over the hood scratching the paint. Now when it needs to be cleaned they break out the hose and sponges and clean it for me. It's not like they can do anymore damage (famous last words) to it and it's paid off so I don't really care. |
