Must have been in England... I'll catch the highlights on YouTube. I recently started training in boxing and have been watching A LOT of boxing matches lately. Looking forward to Fury vs Wilder 3 on Oct 9 and Alvarez vs Plant on Nov 6. Hope Wilder skips the costume this time around.

Boxing is the best sport in the world. For fitness anyway. Been training for 2 years - group and private classes - and I can honestly say the sport has changed my life for the better. I'm in the best shape of my life, confident, athletic, and eager to learn new skills.

How do you box with those thick glasses

Contact lenses.

Isnt that dangerous? If there is an accidental eye poke?

You can't poke someone while wearing gloves. I have, however, had gloves graze my eyelids during sparring and the lens fall out. Worst that can happen is you lose the lens.

My eyes can't be operated. I've been wearing contacts since I was 11 years old. Kind of used to them by now.

Damn, I thought I was super young when I started wearing contact lenses at 13. 11 is the youngest I've heard of now. You must be really good at putting them in and taking them out too. I don't need a mirror and first attempt to insert works 95% of the time. Women are usually impressed at how well I do it.

I've spent countless hours of my life scanning my surroundings for fallen contacts. I use to wear the permanent ones, back in the day, and they were a fucking bitch to lose! $$$

Have yours ever come out during sparring? Do you spar?

And for boxing, it's a somehow a blessing : Joshua has been winning too much and it was getting dull. It's good to have challengers fighting for the throne, it's making things more interesting than repeating Joshua vs Wilder vs Furry vs Wilder vs Joshua vs Wilder vs etc etc etc
And honestly imho Usyk deserved to win, he really put on a great fight!

I haven't sparred recently. We used to mess around as kids with gloves I bought from Toys R us.. Not really in a rush to be honest. I'm nursing a recent shoulder injury at the moment, so I'm just practicing footwork. I need to save my remaining brain cells. :upsidedow

Since you mentioned you like YT a lot, have you seen Tony Jeffries' channel? He's a former pro boxer from England with a gym in LA now. I really like his content.

Yes, I've watch Toney Jeffries videos. They're pretty good.

But my favorite boxing channel is Precision Striking





These are pretty good workouts that you can do even with a shoulder injury. I'm also recovering from a shoulder injury and have avoided contact for the last several months. But I still train hard in footwork, defense, cardio and shadow boxing. Doc said I should be good to go 100% again in October.

I've been put off boxing recently with the endless barrage of "Boxer A vs some youtube asshole", and trying to pass it off as the real deal. PPV and everything. Bah !!
