lol, still cheap compared to the UK.

Although our standard fuel is 95 octane.

Looked like a tourist stop so not sure that's a good example since it's always higher.

Maybe it's real and maybe it's not. But if it's real and just a tourist trap that's still damn
expensive.

And because of the censorship and head games that big tech plays I never fully believe
anything that I read on the Internet.

Do not stop here for any reason. This place, in it's entirety, is a perfect example of "Highway Robery". On 8/5/21 we came here low on gas. Then saw the price for regular at $7.599, and premium well over $8.00! We put in 3 gals of reg, just enough to get us far away from this location. This site, with gas, store, and resturant should be boycotted! The owners of these businesses truly Do not like us! Gorda should be renamed "Gouge Ya".

Extremely overpriced gas because they know you’re stuck if you’re stopping there (about $8 per gallon because the next station is 40 miles away) and they even charge you money to use the bathroom...at a gas station...By far the worst part of our Big Sur trip - definitely plan to get gas ahead of time and don’t stop here.

Adorable quick stop which is very welcome after all the intense driving in that area.

Way overpriced gas, also truly evil they wont let you use their WiFi even if you offer to buy something or pay for 7 dollar gas, by the time you’re that far north up the coast there is zero reception so if you’re lost don’t expect them to help. It was pitch black and pouring rain in January 2020. They also lied to me and said there wasn’t any another gas station for 50 miles. Completely unethical and should be illegal or shut down somehow.

During a global pandemic, collapsing economy, failing governments and growing wildfires GORDA gave me a place of refuge. Thank you Gorda for your amazing hospitality and kindness.

Nice people. My car battery was shot, guy in the store came out and helped me jump the car

One of the best places to see whales in the most beautiful water. Friendly environment and always sunny.

Ask for food prices before you purchase, or else pay $8 for 2 bags of chips! Good place to take a piss though.

$6.59 for a gallon of gas. Do your best not to give any money to these bums.

Super expensive gas. would not recommend it

This place serves a need for those caught on a long drive in between locations, but it certainly makes you pay for it. Everything is very overpriced. Still, a nice place to stop and sit down to break out a packed meal. There are picnic tables that look out across the pacific ocean.

My best advice to everyone going through Big Sur, is this: Get all your shopping and everything you need BEFORE you reach this market. They GOUGE the heck out of you. They charged me $3.00 for a 12-oz can of coke. They charged locals $8.00 per bundle for firewood, and they charged me $15.00!!!! I am disgusted and if it weren't the only available option I would have gone elsewhere. They aren't very friendly, either. F*ck this place.

This gas station is famous because it's the only one in the area and the only option for anyone who didn't prepare. They have been price gouging for years.

Isn't that what unchecked capitalism is all about?

Someone must have read "Looking Out for Number One" and inspired by Jeff B's amazon success at scraping gazillions in wealth while everyone else is slipping into disparity.

Easy fix though. Stay informed and plan ahead.

If you find yourself out of gas in a gouge shop, it's not their fault.

You would be very hard pressed to find another industry as government messed with as the
gas-oil.

Kill all government meddling in the marketplace and then we'll be able to finally see what
unchecked capitalism looks like and have a discussion about it's negatives or merits.

But as long as government has any say in what happens in industry or the marketplace we
won't have capitalism but instead it's just varying degrees of socialism.

Fact : We need some socialist programs to mitigate the damage to capitalism.

Such as?

I'm not trying to bait anyone but I see the argument for such things as universal healthcare
as just ensuring the survival of the obese and other assorted unhealthy people.

In a pure capitalist environment people need to take their health seriously because medical
care comes with a price tag.

On the contrary, the government provides the most elite form of corporate socialism to the largest of transnationals (military, finance, energy, pharma, agriculture, technology).

The record is clear on this (easy to verify), and evident in the everyday lives of all those who are not protected by a "too big to fail" or "most significant political donors" status.

Government "meddling" only happens with everyone else.

Capitalism does not exist. There is only a popularly repeated false mythology to keep things exactly as they are.

1. Capitalism benefits the small guy - Milton Friedman
2. The masses are asses - Alexander Hamilton

I used to believe that the monsters (ie: Police, Miltary, etc) that obey the commands of
of The Monster (ie: Government) we're the biggest evil scumbags on earth

Now I believe that the unquestioning and complaint masses are the biggest evil piece of shit
scumbags in the universe.

You've got shit for brains if you think this can be fixed without any "socialist" ideas.
This is created by American capitalism.

In your head, regulating price gouging for housing is "socialist", and that is what makes you a natural born idiot that bows to "economic slavery".
But you probably like that condition because it creates numerous people who are willing to suck your cock on camera because they are broke.
And that's the only way they'd suck your narcissistic cock.

Now be mad at me for telling the truth.
