Digging up the dinosaur, or "Hello Again"

Hello all you hard-working people.

I wasn't active on the adult side of business for the last 10 years. With my mainstream opportunities in a slow down I decided it might be a good time to start an adult side project or two.

Is the free websites route still viable with a shoestring budget and part-time commitment?

I need to start from square zero. I was using ePassporte for payments - and it no longer exists.
Neither does pimproll and fatpays. (Well, it does in some way, I was able to login to my account and looks like I still have $17 in commission there, but the last content update was in 2016)

On the other hand I have learned new skills since the last time I was here. Hit me if you need help with English-Polish translation or Javascript/nodejs.

I will lurk and browse the topics to get myself reacquainted, but if anyone wants to recommend decent and dirt-cheap hosting that accepts adult stuff I am all ears.

In 2008 they told me that "it is nearly impossible to get profitable site, it was much easier in 2005"

In 2010 they told me that "with new regulations it will crash and only biggest players will remain"

In 2012 everybody agreed that "2008 was the best time, now it is hard"

So, judging from your reply, situation is stable and not much changed ;).

This is true, not much has.

How much were you making per month in 2008?

How much were you making per month in 2010?

How much were you making per month in 2012?

What are your site building skills? What is your startup budget?

Welcome back :winkwink: If you are looking for an affordable and adult friendly hosting then I can recommend TMDHosting which I use myself for my porn websites. You can see the list of other good adult host companies here: https://mradultaffiliate.com/adult-web-hosting/

:thumbsup

nothing; less than $100; not enough.

But I only had a couple of pages in thumblogger and ONE domain on paid hosting. I didn't understand much about seo, was abandoning things before any traffic started, etc.

I have about $100.

I know HTML/CSS, can navigate Wordpress with ease (but I hate PHP). I can build express based nodejs sites, code scripts, apps, thinking about doing static sites with Hugo or Gatsby

Welcome back to the forum!

Drachen 10-22-2021 03:04 AM

Thank you. TMDHosting and Hawk Host are the ones I shortlisted.

BTW. I see my reply to fuzebox got stuck in moderated, I have no idea why. How trusted do I have to be on the forum to be able to add new post without waiting for moderations?
