People don't understand and think it will be like a trainwreck. It is collapsing right now. When the 1929 stock market crashed, everyone nowadays thought people were in the streets waiting in breadlines the next day.

No, as a matter of fact, within a year, the market gained back its losses as the people years later (early '30s) then ran out of money/savings not invested in the market. Then, businesses closed, and unemployment skyrocketed because people didn't have any money to buy anything. The point, nobody really views the 1929 collapse in its correct historical timeline.

When you are sick, your body gives you symptoms. So do countries, and with all this neo-Marxist rhetoric or what I call bolshevism 2.0 is just a symptom of a much bigger problem. The reasoning for this is many, but what you truly need to worry about now is people getting violent over the meaning of actual words. This is and always has been the leading indicator of a collapsing country, not just an economy.

Not 'what if' but 'when'.

Many great Empires have collapsed from within not from threats outside the Realm.

I get the humor in this, and it really is funny. That said, I've been in this biz, aka doomporn, for over a decade and done nicely. I just wrote this in another forum if anyone ever wants to get serious about just the basics.

Now it's time for people to take this far more seriously and prepare. I'll explain my direction for use as a guideline. I've invested a lot of time and resources, so here goes with the simple 7.

Number 1. Stop talking about politics or getting involved with anything or anyone political. Don't pick a side or let someone pick for you.

Number 2. Take out the extra cash in your checking account. It is not your money anymore. It's the banks and why they pay you interest. Read what a "bank bail-in" is. Have cash on hand in different increments, NOT all $100's. At least $500 in the 20's,10's,5's,1's,.

Number 3. Get your medication in three-month increments, including "over the counter."

Number 4. Hedge inflation. Buy everything you can that's used often without or an extended shelflife. Especially auto parts, tools, toiletries (razors).

Number 5. Keep your vehicle well maintained as it will save your life and start to eye gas stations well before half a tank.

Number 6. I can't stress this one enough. Have enough food and water on hand for you and your family to last ten days without municipal water or power. A gallon per person a day and precooked food pouches or canned food are best. You can also quickly grab or trade them if you need to leave. Buy extra and NO 50lbs bags of beans and rice.

Number 7. Have a plan. Build a "bugout bag." A place to fall back to if possible. I'm not worried about personal protection because I practice shooting and enjoy it, a clear understanding of societal breakdown, or what you have or do to get through it, and finally, the steps leading to it.

These simple seven will save your life.

All of that is really interesting. But, if you think about it objectively, it won't really help you survive, except for a few weeks or months, at most.

What happens when your supplies run out? Money may be worthless. Just because you practice shooting doesn't mean you can go go up against groups of bandits. Your best bet, IMO, is to unite with like-minded people. Good people with good intentions and a plan.

Number 6 - This one is the most difficult to comprehend. Did you watch the video? No matter how much food you store, it likely won't be enough. Besides, if you're eating and everyone else is starving, it won't be long before they show up at your door, wherever you are.

Cans and bottled water might be good for a few weeks. Without fresh fruits and vegetables, though, your body will quickly fall into an unhealthy state.

Nice reply. Yes, I agree, totally. These are just the basics to get past the shock of what happened, i.e., cause. Also, it really all depends on this cause—civil unrest from a country collapse, solar flares, to a meteor, etc. Again, enough to survive to understand how truly fucked you are and weigh options. Six leans to people with kids, but again you are right if you don't have a long-term strategy.

That said, like-minded people change depending on the immediate needs of their kids/family/starving. Also, If you live in the States, you'd know Americans are the most heavily medicated people on the planet. Way past not getting an essential prescription for things like heart disease, diabetes, etc., but anti-d's to even pot mixed with 300 million firearms. The collateral repercussion (your point) is phase two of simple seven.

When a country fails... Another country rises from the ashes. How many countries have failed... People survive.

I am much more concerned about something like COVID.... Since the big earthquake in 1989 I've always kept a lot of canned goods and non perisable foods in the house - and always lots of bottled water. When COVID first hit - when China built that special hospital just for people sick with COVID - we started stocking up again. The moment they announced the lock down here in California we went straight to Costco and stocked up on everything. It was so much food we couldn't put it all away.

...very true. But with the right multivitamins, you can extend this. Early explorers spent months at sea before they hit land. Granted, scurvy was a significant problem. A more concerning and immediate issue is hygiene and waste.

We've acclimated to being so much cleaner we lost our natural immunities to fight off those kinds of bacteria. So don't buy toilet paper when you can buy wipes as they have multi-uses—lots of hydrogen peroxide, bleach, and other cleaners.

Also, if you have kids or the elderly, remember they hold in stress, so upset stomach medication is a must. Lots of it.

Yep, exactly. The US is a resource-rich country and the world reserve currency. Other more minor countries' currencies will fail first, only strengthening the (reserve) US dollar. This will take decades, and if I'm still alive, the coagulation of jello and smooth catheters will primarily intrigue me.

My primary now is a major environmental event. Call me crazy, but I firmly believe specific countries have learned how to weaponize weather.

I make money. That's it. It's like why I buy/own firearm/ammo stocks. I bought them not primarily because of the products, but because some dumbfuck will go shoot up a school or a theater. Then the gov threatens a ban that causes a mad rush <wait for it> to buy more guns and ammo—driving the stock value up even higher.

You can say that's bottom-feeding or whatever, but I make money from it. Nothing I can say/do will stop all of this from happening, so why not make money from it?

What will upset you Captn' is a lot of people in this community actually want this crazy shit to happen. I rather enjoy taking their money.

Keep all your options open and never be someone's tool. My favorite mantra on this subject is "only fools rush in."
