Webmaster doesn't want to pay

Hello there, I hope you are all doing great.

Before I post about one of the forum members who simply refuses to pay for my writing services, can you please tell me - do I just post screenshots of our conversation here or is there some other method for providing the proof?

Thank you.

You too got burned? :disgust

I'm not quite sure, but I think screenshots of the conversation and proof of your work done would be sufficient :thumbsup

Good luck!

Ignores my messages sent to all of the addresses I could find, and in the meantime, he's looking for the workforce on GFY - https://gfy.com/gfy-jobs-and-service...moderator.html

300 USD is not a big amount and it is not the first time someone from GFY doesn't want to pay (happened only two times), but this guy is so arrogant that I really have to post about it.

It is sad to see good guys not getting paid. Letter27 always writes good content for a fair price. :upsidedow:thumbsup

Thank you, Alen. Yea well, what can you do. It happens sometimes, and it deserves to be reported to the community.

Fuckin' 300 bucks, what a bloke... How would he pay his "forum moderator of 400k+ members" if he can't afford good writing services of $300. Now I'm glad he didn't answer on my email regarding that forum moderator shit. I was just curious about, but now I don't want to mess with this dude.

Karma is a biatch, so it will give you back triple more in the future :2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents:
, and he won't be able to hire and screw anyone else! :winkwink:

Thanks for pointing this out to us all, and bump for your great writing services! :thumbsup

If someone keeps giving you such excuses it should be a big red flag. Maybe he will fix it after seeing this thread.

:winkwink:

In the future PREPAY ........
Nothing else will fix those :2 cents:

Judging by his replies, I am pretty sure he will not pay.

It is a good idea, but I always feel bad asking for $ in advance. I guess it's normal to lose some money when doing business.

Losses due to non-payment are part of business but you want to be taking steps to help mitigate risk. You aren't just losing money but also opportunity cost. Your lost time could have been spent working on another project or enjoying time with family.

There's nothing wrong with asking for some sort of upfront payment with not trusted parties. If full payment makes you uncomfortable, try 50%.

Tell me are you still feeling bad? :helpme

I agree with a 50% deposit (mentioned above) seems to be a good idea for you.

hdbuilder 12-02-2021 12:33 PM

Unless you got a good record with someone or a company has lots of references you trust, never bad to get at least half deposit.

When it comes to writing services and bigger orders I'd probably ask for a 30%-50% deposit, especially when deal with someone you don't know.

eric_wahlberg 12-03-2021 01:33 AM

Post it in job requirement section. Let other people be aware of it.

I just hope the honest and decent man with quality provided work will get paid :2 cents: :thumbsup

LetterTwenty7 12-03-2021 09:09 AM

Guys, thanks for the kind words! Much appreciated. I guess I should definitely ask for an upfront payment from the ppl I have not worked for yet. Have a nice weekend. ;)

J. Falcon 12-03-2021 11:14 AM

Hope you get your money.

My rule is, first-time clients always pay up front.

fuzebox 12-03-2021 02:18 PM

66 posts since 2019 is barely even a forum member :2 cents:

As someone who (sometimes) hires people like you, I'd almost feel odd if you didn't ask for half up front, especially first time. Unless we agreed in writing for a long term deal where you invoice me monthly / weekly or similar.
