Last words....this is a first...
 

Lockhart was executed on December 9, 1997 in Texas. Lockhart's last words were; "a lot of people view what is happening here as evil, but I want you to know that I found love and compassion here. The people who work here, I thank them for the kindness they have shown me and I deeply appreciate all that has been done for me by the people who work here. That’s all, Warden. I’m ready."[7]

Not sure of the significance here. Or even why it's special to you.

If you've read any death confessions or last words you know they not very many of them wish best for the family.

And never ever have I heard them say that the prison people were nice people and they did him right

You would hear that stuff back in the 1850s. 1870s etc... modern guys, not so much now. The country was much more 'Christian' 150 years ago.

I am sure he did find love and compassion... In prison in Texas. Mostly in the shower.

I do find last words interesting. Glad he could be humble in the situation.
