What do you guys do about a mouse

I moved into a new place and there's a mouse that sneaks in around the stove sometime.

I put out peppermint oil and lavender oil that keeps him away I'm gonna try black pepper now.

I don't want to kill the little fucker for just trying to support his family you know what I mean

I had a mousing Cornell when I lived there and he would come up through the hole in the flag stone that the key went down to turn on the gas for the fireplace.

I just put a little piece of wood or a rock on the hole when I took the key out no more mouse problem

baddog 12-14-2021 12:25 PM

It is said that no one has "a mouse"

w4mmaps 12-14-2021 12:32 PM

Personally I kill them via poison.

ZTT 12-14-2021 12:35 PM

Yep, there's no such thing as one mouse. If it's regularly in your apartment/house, you have a family nesting happily away and spreading mouse covid (hantavirus) all over your place. Extermination of the entire family is the only solution.

lustxseo 12-14-2021 12:48 PM

Get yourself a cat or a dachshund and mice won't be a problem + you get another friend. Although cats are those asshole friends who just use you for food and shelter.

Man that's harsh. I sterilize all the stuff the mouse touches. Easy to spot, mouse poop. I'll see what the black pepper does.

I don't kill stuff if I don't have too. Maybe I'll look into high frequency sound

Put something like this out? Humane Mousetrap - You dont need to kill what you catch obviously... Just release away from your house?

Plus its lots of fun for the mouse as he tries to stay on the bar...

CaptainHowdy 12-14-2021 02:30 PM

Get a cat ? ? ?

Cars are so hit and miss. My daughter's cat is pretty cool however I always hear cats piss every where. A model staying at the place in cornell had a cat. pissed on everything.

Even my daughter's cat claws the furniture... I do like cats though. I was living with 2 dogs and cat..... lots of funny stuff happened lol

Dunno why women won't castrate their cats yet they try to emasculate every guy that comes their way . . .

There are sticky strips you can catch mice with, and take them into the woods and put vegetable oil so they can get released from the stick and run away.

They can be happy, to not get killed, you can be happy to live knowing youre not a murderer like the poison-killer fuckers above

There is no such thing as one mouse or rat.

We had both in our attic and it drove me mad. I could hear them up in the attic at night and there was nothing I could do. I tried all kind of traps - the sticky paper, the old fashioned traps, the big cage traps... No matter how many I caught there was always more.

I ended up getting pest control. No idea what they do but I haven't had mice or rats since their first day.

You can buy a small trap that won't hurt him, then you relocate the little guy...

Or build it yourself with a bucket -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ze7Fjjuses

My parents thought they had mice in the attic, they could hear them scratching right above their bed. Dad wanted to go up and put traps out, but somehow mom managed to convince him to call an exterminator. Good thing, too. It was a massive yellowjackets nest, and the scratching was the yellowjackets chewing through the sheetrock. They were down to just the paper, and the exterminator said if the nest had fallen when mom and dad were in bed, there was no doubt they would have been stung to death.

What I thought, too. Too many people who take no responsibility for their pets well being.

Good point

Grapesoda 12-15-2021 04:40 AM

Black pepper kept the mouse out. Thing to might be pull the stove out and find the entrance. Lots of access in the kitchen with pipes going out. Plus I feel cold air low in the kitchen. Most houses feel that thought.

Agree! I have 3 cats that keep the mice and rats to a minimum on my farm.

Borrow a cat or set a self-setting trap. Those are the easiest. Or make friends and see if it will love you.

It has friends. I promise.

Man, I got attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets once, fucking hurt. One thumb got stung like 4-5 times alone. :(
