I was shocked last night reading this on Mike Jones facebook and refused to believe it. '

Many years ago he had reached out to me on ICQ asking for my help with the company he was with and I was happy to drop anything I had just to work with him but also learn from him. A few years later our friendship grew even stronger and I learned so much about the man and was honored to call him friend. I still don't want to accept this - hell - we were just talking on Facebook together a short time ago.

Seems every couple of weeks we hear of someone new that is close to us.

I hope his family will be okay - I know he loved them deeply and we had conversations about them many times.

RIP ol friend... I still don't want to let you go

It's gonna keep going like this unfortunately. Alot of people in our industry got started in their 20s/30s in the 90s in internet porn. These people are getting older and are gonna start dieing unfortunately. Hell, even I have been in adult for almost 20 years and i'm only 37.

I hear you - I've been in the industry almost 30 years starting around 30 - now I'm 60. So ya I've seen some good people go.

Ok since it hasn't been said here - Marc died of a diabetic shock - meaning his blood sugars went low thereby the window of opportunity to recover by taking sugar either through orange juice etc. was gone and he went into a coma and died. This you can't blame on the person - I am diabetic myself and have experience the feelings of the shock - thankfully I have a meter attached to my arm that I can tap with my IPhone immediately to get a reading then quickly grab something. What you feel is disorientated- brain is foggy - you find it difficult to speak or concentrate and your balance is off among other things like dizziness. If Marc was alone or in other situations - especially in Thailand where they don't exactly have a fast response time with an ambulance the coma would set in.

rhon23 01-03-2022 12:13 PM

Rest easy Marc.

Tjeezers 01-03-2022 04:04 PM

omg that's so sad..... with your knowledge/experience, how long do those "windows of opportunity" last? also, would those patches you stick on your arm help to have identified a possibly lethal situation was brewing?

From what I read, he died in the hospital shortly after being put in a coma.

His girlfriend seems to tell a different story, sounds like he had covid and didn't want to be put on a respirator.

Ok - well when there is multiple versions going around then I'm holding off until such time the truth is heard. Each one is credible but also not sure of their source.

Those patches are called librelink

https://www.abbott.com/corpnewsroom/...librelink.html

not sure if they're available worldwide.

I simply wave my IPhone up to it and it shows the number on the meter where you're at. You need training on it obviously.

My brother (who recently passed away in Dec of cancer) had one after I recommended it. He found it helpful to monitor his sugar levels. Now - the question is - about can the machine identify? ONLY if you actually do a test by putting the app on your phone up to the sensor. What I was teaching my brother at the time was HOW to recognize a diabetic shock (the early flags) to indicate whether he should quickly do a check of his sensor and what to take if it happens. Early signs can be disorientation - a numb tongue - feeling of anxiety - vision blurry - hard to speak = sweats - things like that. Once I see that I am hitting a low I start heading towards kitchen after telling someone in my family so they know what's going on. Even my kids know what to do (as young as 8). So some sugary cereal - orange juice - flat pop - (no chocolate slow acting sugars an wrong sugars) - fruit or fruit juice. etc. There is a lot. Then it's a slow waiting time and I check the readings again - if I see them going up then I'm fine.

Now hearing this new news from the gf about having to put him in a coma is different - so whatever I said really doesn't apply since something else has happened that I'm not aware of when it comes to diabetes.

It was not covid related.
It was undiagnosed diabetes. He ended up in the hospital with diabetic ketoacidosis which also causes breathing problems and can require respirator, so that's why some people think it's covid related.

Ah, thanks for clearing it up, I had just heard about the breathing problems.

Yes thanks for clearing that up

bean-aid 01-04-2022 07:36 PM

Isn't diabetes a fairly progressive disease? Like years and years to get worse and worse if untreated or lifestyle change?

If his gf said covid related, that's likely the most accurate info.

I'm glad you posted this. I was about to do it if nobody else had.

I already contributed.

His kids are definitely in need. He had been out of a job recently before his death.
