The Gay Porn Industry Is Still Super Racist
Well that didn't turn out as they thought. GayVN just did what they always did in years past - sure there may have been some people whispering over a few drinks but never did it get to this point. I wonder whether the same can be said for other award shows whether a model receiving an award would have such a huge impact overall sending shock waves throughout the industry. It does beg the question - is there racism in the straight industry as well? or was this blown out of proportion?
Adult film star Hugh Hunter was having a good week. On November 22, nominations for the GayVN awards, a prominent gay erotica industry honor, were announced after a seven-year hiatus. Hunter was nominated in three major categories, a highlight after another busy year in the competitive world of gay porn. But the next day, Hunter publicly turned down his nominations and denounced the awards show on Twitter, due to the inclusion of a “Best Ethnic Scene” category, made up exclusively of minority performers. A handful of actors of color were nominated in other categories, but sparingly so. He used his public statement to ask a barrage of incisive questions, both of the GayVN Awards and the industry more widely, continuing an ongoing conversation about the gay porn industry’s often-blatant racism He said he had been warned before that such concerns “fall on deaf ears in this industry.” Fortunately, this time, he was wrong. His message provoked media coverage and debate, leading to other performers declining their nominations in turn. In response, the GayVN awards removed the category completely, explained it was intended to “provide a platform for smaller producers to receive more attention,” merged the listed nominees with "Best Duo Scene," and issued an apology from its parent company, Adult Video News. https://www.vice.com/en/article/434y...l-super-racist https://www.metroweekly.com/wp-conte...ugh-Hunter.jpg |
About 7-8 years ago, I was in a gay club in New Orleans where most of the patrons were standing around watching various music videos from the likes of Cher, Britney Spears, Madonna etc..
My situational awareness senses told me to look behind me and this skinny black guy was standing behind me while he slowly stroked his huge cock. Unfortunately, I made eye contact with him and this seemed to excite him as he began to lick his lips. I froze for a second out of pure shock, then I immediately walked off to the other side of the room I would assume looking like I had just seen a ghost. The bartender must have seen this and he came from behind the bar, walked up to the guy and must have asked the guy to leave. Was it racism? I don't know. I try not to think about it. Unfortunately, again, this was not the last time I saw a dick completely unexpectedly. Apparently, in Mexico it is socially acceptable for guys to take a piss anywhere outside, so when I was talking out the trash one day a few years ago, I turned the corner and this Mexican guy was taking a wiz on the sidewalk by my house. Different cultures, I guess. I can't believe I just typed that out. Oh well... I'm not racist, I just don't want to see any dicks unless I'm mentally prepared for it. |

Only time I was in a gay bar was in Vegas for an award show (Cybersocket) at the club - everyone seemed very respectful BUT I did notice the those who were gay were racist against the trans people in there - seem to hate guys dressed as girls - so that took me off guard. |
Gay guys and lesbians don't get along either, apparently. It's like a turf war as it was explained to me.
I still don't know what a "power bottom" is though. Every time I ask a gay dude what it is, I zone out and then act like I understand. |
Isn't it more divisive to have seperate awards based on race?
|
Do they say "N-word cock" while having sex like they do in mainstream interracial?
Because of course that's not racist at all. :uhoh :2 cents: |

That's good to hear Robert!

Super trump victim card edition. Well since no body cares if anyone is gay then find another card. The inclusive movement is exclusive. Sexuality should have no influence on politics.

Race stuff aside; why give a shit if you already have awards?
Why find something to whine about when you are doing just fine yourself? And all you'd be whining about is someone else doing fine for themselves. Conclusion : The guy is looking for something to whine about because he needs to be a victim. :2 cents: |

This country will never be united as long as we have affirmative action for groups. Be it black or transgender or vegan shit.

Okay, I've got another funny one... It was in the Spring of 2019 and I had left the US once again because I realized my girlfriend was a wanted criminal in several states. I decided to go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the first time where I met a 20 year old bartender from Florida within a few days. She had fled The States, as she told me her boyfriend stole $50k worth of marijuana from the farm they both had worked at in Colorado and didn't want to get caught up in the "drama". She had a new boyfriend who was a local Mexican guy, but I learned from a couple patrons at the bar that she was interested in me. Having just been heart broken by my deceitful ex back in New Orleans, I was not interested in a woman who was willing to cheat as she would just do the same to me as well. I was fine just going to the bar every other day where she worked at to hang out and have a few drinks and meet other tourists. One night, I agreed to meet her at a bar in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta. So I take a taxi to meet her. The driver drops me off up the street near a popular gay club called Mr. Flamingo. The club is on a corner and has a tiki bar type theme and has no walls on 2 sides, so it's easy to see the outside streets from inside. I step out the taxi and begin to walk towards a shoulder-to-shoulder packed Mr. Flamingo with intentions of heading past to another bar. In synchronism, over 100 gay men all turn around to see me walking towards the club. Being the center of attention of so many people made me a bit nervous. Everyone is quiet, anxiously awaiting my arrival into the club. Then, one guy says "heeee's heeerrreeee" as if everyone was just waiting for me. I couldn't help but be amused with a sheepish grin on my face as I strolled by on the sidewalk to another bar up the street to meet my young lady friend. |

Those policies are used to force the little bit of unity we have. Bigots are just crying because a Black man earned 25 cents. What you really mean is that you want those groups to disappear. You hate hearing about their rights; it irritates you because you've been brain washed to passively hate non-White people. :2 cents: |

I think he's joking - we all would do the same because it's the idea that it usually doesn't happen and the mind is in complete disbelief that someone could even try such a thing. Yes - if I was in your situation I would likely have said the same thing to myself - "what is he holding down there because surely he couldn't be.... fuck he is... ".. then look up and decide what is the best way to get out of this situation at the same time avoiding jail time. LOL. So ya - it's not the look it's what happens afterwards that's going to determine where you're sleeping that night - in jail - at home or somewhere else. |
