My comfort zone in the office is just as importan as being able to access my tools.

I prefer a double monitor setup 2,32 inch.

It's nice to have a good view of the window as well

A few minutes ago. Old TV placed temporarily because the new one won't show games in 4K. I am trying to figure out what is wrong

Just wait for the Apple VR/AR headset to come out later this year. You will be able to choose whatever size screens you want, from any location.

Wrong version HDMI cable. Older one's cant do 4k at higher hz... old tv has lower refresh rate, thus it works.

I don't think so. Cables are carefully picked to match all standards. The old one isn't even connected, just placed there.

Well, what he said about cables is correct. Some will carry a game's 4k content and some wont. Also try checking if your console's refresh rate is set to the same as your tv, and be sure your tv is in the game setting.

yup! cables are a huge factor in if things work or don't. I stream my NBA and NFL games from my laptop because the apps are not as of good quality. I had some 25-foot amazon basic cables that I know work for other things but they wouldn't work for my laptop to my Yamaha receiver hooked into my projector. So I have to use 10 foot name brand cables and that means you have to step over an HDMI cord a few feet off the ground.

If you have other 4K HDMI cables try hooking them up to it to see if it's the cable or it could be in settings like he said above

I have a 42" roku TV I've been using as a additional monitor.

I hooked my new windows laptop up to the roku monitor, the roku dumps the IP address on the laptop.

Never an issue with chromebook.

Blue tooth won't do it?

Bluetooth video? Is that a thing? Nah, I like my streams to be at least 1080p. My laptop is wired to the internet while other things that can get NBA and NFL apps are wifi

I noticed when plugging the HDMI cable directly into my TV, it gives me a bright and crisp image, complete with sound and all, but when I plug that same 100% fully functioning HDMI cable inside my butt, suddenly, I'm having all sorts of weird issues and my TV simply refuses to show any sign of receiving some sort of signal, like at all.

HDMI works in mysterious ways...:2 cents:

Because you made an amateur mistake. You forgot to use lube!

You need to poo while the cable is up there... you need to feed the cable with 'content' trust me, it works - film yourself pooing it and poost it on gfy :thumbsup

Thanks for the tip, having to feed the cable first sounds like a logical explanation.

How does it feel compared to the multimonitor setup?
I've got used to monitor rotation and it is what stopped me from getting something like that.

I had four monitors set up; The fourth monitor was far to my left and normally had my calandar open on it. I've never had one monitor rotated.

At first it was a huge adjustment. The reason I resisted doing this was because I liked being able to toss a window over to another screen and it would just pop up full screen. The problem I seem to be having is windows get buried under other windows.

But it looks cool.

Have you tried Display Fusion?

Great program for managing multi monitors.

AmeliaG 01-10-2022 07:47 PM

Totally blank room, except for window view, black monolith ultra quiet case with no blinking lights visible externally. The graphics card and the liquid cooler are quite festive inside, but I can't see those. Scanners and printers tucked away in cabinets. Lighting and furniture and computer and monitor are about all I can see. I think of better ideas with fewer visuals around me.

Kiwigirl 01-11-2022 10:37 AM

Clearly a lot of you cleaned up your workspace area before posting pics cos my desk sure as shit don't look as tidy as these. LOL

I have always hated multi monitors, too much head turning.

Love my curved ultrawide, to me it's a gamechanger and offers more ergonomically useable space.

Caveat: I have never full screened a window in my life, always tiled.
