Bloody Mary Recipes

I love bloody marys.

I went to a place in Charleston, SC last November and it was the best bloody mary ever. Now I want to recreate it but no idea how.

What's your favorite way to make one?

Grapesoda 02-10-2022 03:22 PM

Search Toma bloody Mary mixer.

Non alcohol user myself but my daughter tells me it's pretty good stuff.

She mixes it with beer.

Search the restaurant or bar name in Charleston and bloody Mary's and see if the recipe is online somehow

As a Canadian I prefer the Caeser. Clamato is thinner and loaded with delicious MSG :)

I do like mine fairly muddy (lots of worchestshire).

I don't really stock a lot of vodka so most of the time I use gin, tequila, or whiskey as my liquor depending on my mood.

Chipotle tabasco is my preferred source of heat, the smokey flavor is great.

Oh my god this post made me thirsty!

I wish I could remember it. Not sure I'd like it mixed with beer though....but it's thought-provoking.

There are not many drinks I like but this is one I crave.

That sounds really good, I dunno about the clam sauce though in the Bloody Caesar.

I didn't even know something other than vodka could be used.

Tonight I did grey goose with zing zang mix. I added old bay, a lime, olive, pepper, carrot slice and burnt bacon salt around the rim. A dash of regular tabasco. It was pretty damn good. Might have been missing some horseradish and I'm going to try the Worcestershire and chipotle tabasco next time.

It's all about the tomato juice and then the vodka.
Use real tomato juice; not V8 etc...
Use Smirnoff vodka.
Use black pepper and Tabasco.
You may want to thin some brands of tomato juice with a little water, I don't but that does make a difference.
A twist of lime can be good also.

Add a splash of pickle juice (or better yet some pickled green beans) it gives it an amazing taste.

Most Bloody Marys in NOLA come with pickled beans and the taste is amazing, I forget the name of the bar, but there is one on Bourbon Street that serves them with a whole carrot that has been steeped in vodka for 30 days... That shit is killer!

If you can find a natural tomato paste - you can blend it and add some water to receive wonderful flavor :thumbsup
Also, serve it with crispy bacon and a selery for better drinking experience!

That does sounds really good.

I saw that you can infuse your veggies with your vodka! I have a mason jar in the freezer I am going to put something in.

This may be stupid, the vodka won't freeze so the carrot won't either?

@Blackmonsters

I'm gonna give the tomato juice a try with my own spices instead of a mix. I haven't done that yet.

A LOT Of stuff looks delicious in there - especially the scallions and the asparagus! Never would have thought to put those things in there.

I'm learning all sorts of things.

I hate store bought bloody mary mix, so maybe that's the problem.

This. They don't sell clamato here. I have to live with this fucking ketchup-vodka tasting shit.

I don't even like Bloody Marys at all, but I'm willing to give this one a go. 75$ though, damn, I'm going to need to bring a friend to help me then lol

haha!!!! I'm excited for you.

Did you ever use clamato? I'm not sure I can get past the thought of clam juice...but it seems very popular.

Not sure why people get hung up on clam juice. It's salty, briny, umami, deliciousness. If you're picturing some old smelly fishing boat this is not that, especially not when it's 1% of the product :1orglaugh

But if someone DOES want the taste of old smelly fishing boat, I would suggest just adding a can of clam sauce into the mix and blending it thoroughly :1orglaugh

That's exactly what I picture it tasting like lol. EXACTLY!

I hate seafood other than shrimp and crab legs/cakes.

I'm glad you told me though, I am absolutely going to give it a try.

I never tried clamato.
Friends added it to beer and that made me think it was something evil design to destroy all male DNA from the planet.
