I flew across the Atlantic ocean on a propeller plane...really...How?

Longest was New York-Rio.

BaldBastard 03-17-2022 02:10 AM

23 hours Sydney to Frankfurt, then 8 hours on the train to Prague

... never again

CurrentlySober 03-17-2022 02:58 AM

Dunno, but my shortest was about 15 mins in 2002 when I got kicked off American Airlines before flight had even departed due to my 'Behaviour'...

Seriously.

I got a flight in 1996ish - 150 UK pounds - London, Rome, Dubai, Singapore, Bali, Cairns, Sydney - 35+ hours - Then a bus from Sydney to Adelaide 2 hours after landing - Another 20+ hours...

I called it an 'Adventure' - That made it better somehow.....

NatalieK 03-17-2022 08:49 AM

Christmas day, Virgin Atlantic 11am boarding from London Gatwick to Orlando Florida...

arrived about 3 in the afternoon, 9 hr flight...

Jet lag didnīt kick in until about 11pm and ended up having an early night that first night of our holiday :2 cents:

Nope. I told a stewardess to fuck off after she was extremely rude to me. I had been sat on a faulty plane for over an hour and a half, with no AC and no drinks (Not even water) in the heat of the LA sunshine waiting to travel back to the UK.

Eventually we were put on an different plane. Still nothing to drink, as they were about to take off and still no AC on this plane either. I thought I was gonna pass out and have a legit overheating medical issue, so I removed my tee shirt and placed it over me, in the same way as if I was still wearing it.

A Voice told me to 'Get your shirt back on RIGHT NOW!!' like they were talking to some 10 year old naughty child at school and it just irked me cause I was in business class as well, and didn't expect to be spoken to in such a manner.... Had the voice said 'I'm sorry Sir, I know its hot, but I have to ask you to put your shirt back on' then that would be one thing, but it wasn't, so I said 'Fuck Off'

Anyway me and the wife were escorted off the plane by air marshal etc, and put in in a swanky hotel with unlimited room service privileges and no bill to pay at the end, so we enjoyed an extra night in LA and flew back the next day.

Switched to Virgin Atlantic from that point on, and flew so much business class with them, we were bumped up to first class on a couple of occasions.

No, I dont think it was 'cool' to tell her to fuck off or anything, but if they hadn't kept us on the first plane so long, or just offered a simple bottle of water, it would never have even happened... I wont accept people taking that tone with me on the street,. Let alone in an expensive premium plane seat...

Anyway, all good in the end, because the story got around some of the porn gossip blogs of the day (Mike South / Luck Ford etc) and that raised my wife's 'noise' somewhat to bring her to the attention of some people who had not yet booked her...

Buenos Aires > Bangkok = ~35 hours (with a mandatory 7 hours stop at Dubai's airport).

i think my son did a 24 hour one, when he went to NZ for his honeymoon. they went via hong kong, so it was a pretty long flight.

Nah, 1st/Business class. Stupidly long layovers in DOHA because I flew out of Clark, not Manila.

DOHA is a bad ass airport, and their 1st class lounge is 2nd to none, but spending 8+ hours there gets boring.

But yeah, not gonna lie, a big part of me hates living back in the states.

fuzebox 03-17-2022 02:39 PM

Come on guys, layovers don't count :1orglaugh

I feel I've unlocked the lifehack of laying over in Fiji for my Australia trips :thumbsup

cybermike 03-17-2022 04:40 PM

Oh for sure, but not in a "what's your longest flight" thread... Anyone who travels has had 24-36 hour itineraries.

adultchatpay 03-18-2022 05:21 AM

13hrs 40 something minutes. Taipei to Amsterdam via KLM.

Rochard 03-18-2022 10:46 AM

Loryn and I nearly got kicked off a Southwest flight from Sacramento to Phoenix when going to a Phoenix Forum show. We were early to the airport that morning and we were pretty much smashed before we got on the plane. Good times.

I guess my longest flight was Newark, NJ, to London.

I like to break up long flights. On this trip the eventual destination was Prague for a show. I flew from California to New Jersey and spent a few days there with family, then to England for a week of training with Dating Factory, then Prague... Then some sight seeing in London, back to NJ to visit my brother, and then back home.

23hour flight to Melbourne Australia

fastball 03-22-2022 03:23 PM

Longest non stop was 17 hours on Thai Airways LAX to BKK. My longest duration was Yvr to BKK via FRA 11 hours in the Lufthansa first class lounge...then Thai first class airsuite with a double bed and hard walls and a closet to BKK. I think it was around 30 hours and so much fun.

Coybh 03-22-2022 04:21 PM

Long single flight was Abu Dhabi to JFK, 14ish hours.

smuteditor 03-22-2022 09:23 PM

14 hours California to Philippines.
