Affiliation is totally relevant in 2022
The affiliate model is still completely relevant in 2022
And it is probably the most relevant business model to acquire new customers for any online company. It's free : you only pay your affiliate if they send actual sales. Also I noticed I now get contacted by lots of adult traffic sellers, which was not the case even 1 year ago. They MUST look for buyers today in 2022, whereas it was not the case in the previous years. Bottom line : the affiliate model is the absolute must for any online company and it's here to stay what do you think ? |

With companies dropping their affiliate %'s left and right. Not so sure. Creators/influencers are the new affiliates. :2 cents:

I like to hire models with a large social presence. Their traffic is golden. It often repays the rate that I pay them. |

I'd say in the adult industry it's struggling. In mainstream, it's thriving and there are lots of opportunities pretty much everywhere |

The affiliate business model is far from dead in adult, affiliates that actually know how to market and sell products is where the issue is, they dont exist anymore because affiliate webmasters were pandered to by programs to the point where they didnt need to know how to pre-sell products, they became complacent in wanting the program owners to do all the work for them. Fhgs, freesites, cheap membership costs, blog posts, rss feeds, etc, etc.... Affiliates today arent even remotely in the same class as we were 10-15-20 years ago, because back then we HAD to know how to sell to the surfers on our sites. Affiliates grew lazy, programs grew lazy, they stopped supporting affiliate webmasters with educational seminars, weekly chats, etc, during the 'golden age' of porn, these things happened all the time and people made bank, actually SELLING porn, not just throwing any old shit up against a wall and hoping that some it sticks like today :2 cents: |
My little blogs nearly pay my mortage payment so... No, it's not dead at all.

I guess my point was also it appears big companies are handling new artists and affiliate business models in similar ways.

Affiliates are good.
But sites should not fully rely on them (many have). Affiliates should be seen as a bonus for sales rather 100% of sales. Many sites I suspect went bust who relied 100% on affiliates, even if they got a lot of sales. Many invested heavily into content, and they gave 50% of sales away to affiliates. Once you take off the cost of content, hosting and all other costs, many were making a huge loss, even when they were getting many sales. |
