In the late 90s, I remember being with my wife, in a jewelry shop in Amsterdam. She genuinely wanted to make a purchase, and had the money to do so, but they didn't have the size she wanted. The ring would have been so tight as to cut off circulation, or would have fallen off.

They offered to resize down (diluting the value of a fairly expensive piece) which she considered, however with the timescale they gave, we would have no longer been anywhere near Amsterdam...

She really wanted to purchase it, but said she was very sorry and would have to decline and look elsewhere. The person behind the counter, quite clearly, said - "Fuck You Very Much Then"

As we were leaving the store, there was a large crash. My wife had *accidently* stumbled into a display by the door, causing it to crash onto the floor and stuff go everywhere. As we walked onto the street, she called back, 'Yes, FUCK YOU very much too'
