Let's say some webmaster pissed you off

If someone from the business, usually a newbie, acts rude, wastes your time, and uses f-words (or similar) - what do you do?

I suppose the normal answer should be to inform that person all business between us has ended, delete links and the like, and block the email.

But today one person did all of that (swearing, disrespect, time waste...) but in a large amount and I got pissed off, so after doing "normal things" (listed above) I ripped off his/her site of useful text content, changed the text a bit but kept all keywords, and published it on one of my sites. I'll even add some links and I'm sure I'll outrank that shitty site for all keywords in no time, even the site's name/brand.

Was it overreacting?

J. Falcon 06-04-2022 04:59 AM

I think, yes. But the real overreaction was posting about it here.

Duplicating content, even if you change a few words, usually isn't good for SEO.

And when they see that, they will do something similar to you.

And then you will reprise and they will reprise ad nauseum until you are getting daily DDOS attacks and sites being hacked and you both stop making any money.

Best to say, "it's just business" and walk away.

Don't think that because somebody is a newbie that they cannot do you damage. They literally have nothing to lose while you have a business (I assume) that could be affected badly. Destroying somebody's business and reputation is great learning experience for a newbie.

Just imho, of course.

Sounds like a waste of time to me.

wankawonk 06-04-2022 12:37 PM

I've done the same thing twice before, first with an unsavory user on this forum, and then with an ad network that refused to pay. I feel bad about it and wish I'd kept my cool. So yeah, you overreacted. But its OK, we all do sometimes.

Sounds like two successful business operators making significant revenue to me.

I think you should work on your anger management and become more zen, because it's best to just ignore them and move on, otherwise you are just wasting your own time.

maybe just a little?

I had issues too in the past, and still have. I decided to change my own perspectives, and change also my stupid mind to a more mature mind. Takes ages, I swear yea, it was a battle. But good luck finding your.... moment of peace....

I'm all about petty but if a program owner did this to me and I found it I'd be on a mission to make their life hell, and I could absolutely hurt them worse than they could ever hurt me.

Sergio 06-06-2022 05:32 AM

Always do business with integrity

brassmonkey 06-06-2022 05:40 AM

pornguy 06-06-2022 08:03 AM

I have had a number of them piss me off. And from big companies.
I do the same to all of them.
I ignore them and get back to work.

Lubas 06-06-2022 04:37 PM

That sounds like a very stupid and petty thing to do. The best revenge is to live a happy life.

NatalieK 06-09-2022 10:19 AM

ok, as long as that person was the asshole and you hadn´t done anything to provoke the situation, then i think it´s good stuff and fuck that other fucker!

Those that cross me in person, wow, they don´t want to think what´s happening, it´s going to hurt!

I know someone here already trying to fuck with me and mock me and my business, alas, all other models, escorts and women do the same as me and my business, so they´re just being idiots...

the fact they´re not fucked already is that I am nice and have decided not to fuck with them!

Anyway, continue to fuck with them if they´re fucking with you!

Have a great day, stay positive and enjoy life, we only live once! :thumbsup

Scrapper 06-09-2022 02:57 PM

..if you have the talent and know-how to do all that why not just go make money? Believe me, when they know you are wealthy it kills them.

animeHentai 06-24-2022 12:26 AM

you're right, i gave up my petty revenge
the moment the incident has happened i was already in a bad mood, and in combination with the traces of aggressive macho culture still lingering in my mind since my childhood - it created the blast

Absolutely NOT.
What you call "anger" can be an AMAZING MOTIVATING TOOL in business.

It is actually the BEST motivating engine if that energy is properly channeled.

So all these cliché feedbacks like "be the better man", "just ignore" are the most counter productive advices anyone can give you.
