Twitter DMCA?
Hi!
Got my first DMCA on twitter - of course it was legit sponsor content but nowadays you get DMCAd easily for embedded videos provided by a sponsor too.. my question is, does anyone has experience how many DMCA's can a twitter account handle before getting banned/limited.. ? (currently I'm too lazy to counter it) Thanks. |
I got one too and a strike :(
|
So you get a dmca and if you dont respond then you get a strike or how does it works?

So I got a DMCA notice, had to login to twitter agree to some terms and my account is working fine since then.. what are some possible counter measures? Having multiple twitter accounts under one login will get all of those banned?

it's a evil tactic to get rid of you if you are beating someone on a keyword or in this case a hashtag.
|
Seems like this was a models trigger happy DMCA agent, there was a list to other tweets, three from official bang.com twitter account lol
I'm not really using hashtags. |

You really have to counter them or you can quickly lose your account.

HI,
today i got 3 DMCA on Twitter, i didn't counter notification i wrote to their supplier that i don't advertise them anymore let's see their answer, you should write to their supplier too |
Why do so many webmasters not bother to counter when in the right, when you are literally risking your account by not countering?
|
Reached out to the DMCA agency, they told will retract.. will see.

There are a few agencies working for models directly that DMCA our stuff from time to time. They've DMCA'd our official Twitter account and well as the subreddit we post to regularly. I've always had to file counter-notices to reinstate the posts. |

No surprise here. |
I feel stupid for asking this but where do you get these dmcas? In your twitter admin, email, google etc?
Surprised I haven't gotten any, maybe I haven't looked in the right place :) |
Email.. . . .

alex @ ryulion com I'm here to help, I have lots of higher up contacts guys! |
Never ever ignore a DMCA especially if you have the rights to use the content,
because you could end up in a really uncomfortable situation. This applies to Google, hosting, any social network, etc... DMCA agents are just trying to send as many notices as possible even if you have the rights, since they are obviously paid by a notice sent not by a correct notice sent. So always file a counter notice even if it says: "We have rights, but we removed the content as a sign of courtesy...". |

As far as I know you can only tweet a link or upload images and video files on Twitter, you can't add iframes or live streams. |
I shouldn't have posted in this thread, cause yesterday I got a dmca from twitter as well :winkwink:
Anyways, what I did, I went to the dmca company and had them whitelist me so I won't receive more complaints from them in the future. If you guys do this as well it could help stop this trend from growing :) |

Few will whitelist, most will plainly ignore. The best results are when you contact your sponsor who then contact the person who filed the notice.
