Meta Quest Pro

I was going to buy this if it was under $1,500, but not at that price, especially as it costs over 1700 Euros in Europe. Plus the fact that it ony has 1 or 2 hours battery life. That means you can't even watch a movie on it in one sitting. I thought the benefit of having a lighter and more comfortable headset would be so you could have longer sessions in virtual reality.

One benefit of these mixed reality VR headsets will be that you could do some adult work in cafes or on the plane, and nobody would be the wiser. I imagine anybody wearing these in public would get a few stares though, at least until they become mainstream.

imho VR still isn't really 'there' yet. What will make it mainstream is when you can get AR in a small pair of glasses - Then it will fly for work stuff like you suggested.

Have a look at the Pico 4, an alternative to the Meta Quest. Similar price but lighter and a bit better overall going from the reviews

When mobile phones approached pricing of $200 per phone only then everybody got a phone. Now it's hard to imaging a person without one.

Same goes for VR + the fact that headsets are still bulky. Once they get to the size of a pair of glasses, VR would be there.
