Happened to me several years ago. The Oracle was telling me to set auto-renew for all the domains and whitelist/filter their notification emails so I always get them in time. Since these were applied, I haven't lost anything, and I handle hundreds of domains..
Send them a complaint!! NameSilo support used to respond fast. |

You want the domain to expire. You don't want to save your credit card info, in the event of a data breach (i.e. Epik). Turning off auto-renew prevents billing when a domain is transferred and no longer at the losing registrar. |

I never use use auto renew but still i did not lost any domain. But still strange how it goes so fast after 2 weeks, i though there is some rule around 60 days before domain goes on public offer.
I guess it's different per registrar. |

tl;dr ... If a domain is valuable or important to your business, renew in advance of expiration. |
:2 cents: MojoHost is cheaper than NameSilo after this last .com price hike. Anyone that wants to move, we will concierge the migrations for you using our staff.

happened to me with godaddy as well I lost a good domain
|
So what's the domain name
If worth someone will buy it |
Damn, every domain registrar I've used sends countless emails. I get one weekly not only to my account email but the admin email for the domains for domains about to expire and ones that are in redemption period. All starting about a month in advance to renewal time.
I think with the amount of domains I have, I get an email from them every week for the past three years lol |
