What's an indie maker empire? I want to hear more.

After running paysites for ~20 years im doing several investments in real estate, trusts and Nasdaq stocks. Also, big mainstream projects for some latinamerica's governments.

Over the past few years a movement has been emerging in mainstream where talented software engineers were quitting their jobs to build their own startups... But the twist, instead of chasing VC money and shooting for the moon in typical Silicon Valley fashion, they build calm, sustainable and profitable companies that stay small in headcount.

Lot of VC people call these "lifestyle businesses" just enough to cover costs of the business and provide a decent lifestyle for the founder, but we have many MANY people who make that phrase wholly inaccurate.

Anyway, I run one of the largest communities, approaching 9,000 indie makers and am building a suite of tools to empower them to succeed.

My little company still works on selling paysite memberships on the regular affiliate model and although the business model changes and affiliates do fade out, we are still doing good.
We also started building legit tube sites, however, we have to rely on purchased traffic..

I'm still doing my thing, and with a fantastic group of people.

Still shooting , 22nd year , doing my first real site foot fetish , lots of star power on there. Slowly but surly working.

I'm about 30% in adult, and 70% in mainstream, mostly Network / Server / VM support.

Things switched to mainstream when Covid hit. I had alot of mainstream friends with on-premises servers that suddenly needed to switch to the cloud so their employees could work from home. I'm working on my CCNA and AWS Cloud-Architech badges now. Woohoo!

I have on TODO list to get those badges as well. But still not sure is it worth it.

i think any possible tech labor needs are covered for the foreseeable future, especially for all these big tech point-and-click plug-and-play solutions (like AWS).
