A few methods.

1. Have an affiliate system

If for instance you use CCBILL it is built in, and all you need do is have a page on your site or an external affiliate site, that lets people sign up to promote.

2.Social media

A great way to build up a fan base.

3. Forums

Post on forums.

4. Get in the news

This may sound silly, but look how much publicity it has got sites who have got in the news. Free publicity to millions of people.

The problem you have could be that pov has been done to death, and sites where chaps are just having sex with sexy models, and they hope running a pay site will fund them a sex life, I suspect those sites do not do well.

If I was going to suggest anything, it would be, do something different to other sites.

Other factors is will be, if the content is purchased or exclusive. How much content you have. Look of the site.

I forgot to mention, one of the best ways to get publicity and sales is tube sites.

Think of porn tube sites like social media sites, and you will see a lot of sales from them.

Create channels of your site in the main tubes (Pornhub, Xvideos...), upload non-complete videos with attractive thumbnails and redirect them through watermark, intros and credits in each video.

Creating additional non-explicit viral content, taking advantage of the logistics of your productions, will allow you to have content to work on your social networks.

Knowing the algorithms (tubes and social networks), optimizing your channels and uploading quality regular content would be two details to take into account to be successful.

On the other hand, a good affiliate strategy would be the key.
