Guess what else they eat, dog?

Look Chang 12-13-2022 03:44 AM

In France we eat the "Steak Tartare" which is a popular recipe based on thickly minced raw beef or horse meat to which spices are added and with an egg on top. It is generally served with French fries.

the reason you cook is to kill parasites

In North America we slightly cook ours over fire or heated plate - then serve with french fries (in Canada Poutine) - we don't put egg on top but rather cheese bacon tomato ketchup - mustard some tomato then call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese

Love raw/rare meat dishes (except raw japanese chicken - Torisashi) . . . if the meat's fresh and healthy you'll be alright.

Are there still dog meat farms in Korea?
About 1 million to 1.5 million dogs are killed each year for food in South Korea, which is a decrease from several million about 10 to 20 years ago. The dogs are intensively bred on farms where they're locked in metal cages, often without water or proper food, according to the Humane Society International.Nov 4, 2022
Switzerland also is a dog eating. roof!

It's a delicacy for the richer, older population. It has declined rapidly.

The young Koreans are not into it.

I've lived there... have you?

JesseQuinn 12-13-2022 10:40 PM

yukhoe, tartare and poutine are equally gross to me

I look at it like: so this is what it will look like if someone pukes it up. good to know :thumbsup:upsidedow

for real tho raw meat and fish are not dangerous provided they are served in sanitary conditions, cooled properly and copiously seasoned. one of the benefits of seasoning (peppers, salt, herbs and spices) is to delay decomposition of animal flesh. smoking as well

so not dangerous if prepared by someone who knows that they are doing

I'm not gonna test that theory as miles to go and many mango slices to eat before I rest but for those enticed who eat meat and eggs? try it

Poutine is just fries with cheese curds and brown gravy. It's actually delicious.

Raw beef is actually ok, although not my favorite. I'd never eat raw ground beef from a commercial source, that's just like begging for an E.Coli infection.

I knew this US Navy sailor from Georgia (the state, not the country) serving on a 5th fleet base in the Middle East. He use to talk about eating possum back home.

My point, I guess, is people eat what seems weird to us all over the world.

would be very daring to bet each other things we do anyway. feeling trepidatious about that. you didn't even state your chosen toppings

tell ya what, I will dance while you eat pizza IF you can get Pheer to pop it to Milkshake by Kelis

if so achieved, a win win all around

Also have it in Holland.
I remember a friend ordering that in Thailand before he would leave the next day.
I warned him that this Thai place, with not much customers, wouldn't be my choice.
I was right, was there too long and he puked all the way from Bangkok to Amsterdam.

That is also why i didn't like it anymore. One time wrong and sick for days.
