VR is dead. VR is now being sold as 360 cameras
It is interesting to see that the VR hype seems to have died.
VR now seems to be sold as 360 format for bloggers and dashcams rather than for VR footage. Not so long ago it was about making VR footage, but the new 360 cameras do not seem to bother with that as a sell, but rather a way to get steady footage for such as bloggers. A way to select footage after you have shot, to produce non VR footage. |

For years VR has desperately attempted to prove they are as good if not better than watching normal porn - and when I disagreed I was called old. I stated that with 5 kids in school that they or any of their friends use VR when asked by me. Stores still have them in dusty boxes with no one even looking at them either out of price or usefulness. Yes headsets are being used - mostly for gaming but teens aren't our target market. Those who've tried headsets find them uncomfortable and not a pleasant experience. VR has it's place for those who like it - but the % is low for users. I wouldn't say it's dead - but certainly needs a breakthru in technology to make them useful for the common user out there - even so - the shooting of VR porn still needs to step up their game to create better angles and scenes that would make a scene worth saving. I truly wish the best for these pioneers but that's where they are NOT front runners of the industry in content or user choice. |
I'm still trying to find basic reality, so WTF I need a virtual one for.
:1orglaugh |
From what I've seen of VR in adult, the producers have no clue of what they are doing. Yeah POV is nice, but not when it's two inches from your face and you physically cannot back away from it.

I just did a deep dive of my VOD and offsite content sales last month. YanksVR videos make 500% to 600% more than a Yanks 2D video does. The average VR consumer spends much more. VR and really AR are eventualities. The new Meta Quest 2 is amazing and the 3 will be even better. I do believe so much VR content is crap and many producers aren't doing it well. The headset is still an issue for porn, but it will continue to grow and evolve. The problem with adult is that unless something or someone explodes over night it is shit to them. They don't look deeply enough at what is really happening. After the initial investment, VR isn't that much more to produce, so 5x and 6x are awesome multiples. :2 cents:

What you can do with simple things like this one are already insane. https://store.insta360.com/product/one_r?c=972 Notice it's sold out? |

Even the Insta360 One R you mention still has problems with it as seen in most reviews Editing app requires latest smartphones Stitching lines sometimes visible Expensive Lens could be easy to lose Look I'm not here to battle since those who love VR are fanatical about it - I'm just stating my opinion that's all (like everyone else). I'd be happy to change it when I or if I see a VR clip that would actually give the effect in watching as you say it should. Until then I'm happy to support your efforts and hope that you actually do reach the heights you deserve - just don't claim them now when you have a % against it |
I remember seeing Ice-T (rapper) on a show (I think New York Undercover) playing a game with a "VR Headset" like 30 years ago. Looked awesome and I wanted one.
Bought 2 Oculuses for the kids 2 Christmasses ago. They mostly stay in a toy box and the only one that plays is my autistic nephew who visits from time to time to scream at other kids on the god awful Rec Room. At the moment, VR is trash. I have zero interest in rubbing one out with a VR headset on. Generally, when it's rub-out time, us men have to be ultra stealthy and swift ninjas that leave no trace of anything ever happening. All your senses have to be on point. A clunky headset with 2 bitch ass joy sticks seems like an unnecessary burden to someone who just wants to knock a quick solo one out unnoticed. I can't speak for everybody, but when it comes to me and porn, VR has a lot of evolving to do before it can replace the convenience of my phone and hand. Gotta be able to feel it to be worth it. And honestly, just getting the real thing would still be better 🤷 seems like something that should be catered strictly for those incels and neckbeards who don't ever get the real thing at the moment. |

Now if it was like the movie Brainstorm from 1983 where you put the headset on and actually can feel everything then count me in - though not sure I wouldn't do the same thing as the one guy and loop the fucking orgasm scene over and over until I had a heart attack LOL https://cms-assets.theasc.com/brains...20220803151133 |

I have said it here years ago when the craze started. " You cannot jerk off with this giant gag on your head". :1orglaugh

Personally I don't like masturbating watching VR porn, but it's still an amazing experience. It's like going to a lap dance club and having to wait until you go home to jerk off. |

VR is a niche. mobile was a niche at one point. we saw it grow every year and now its the primary device. my kid has sleepover parties in VR with his friends. he's on VR 6 hours a day at least. he exercises, socializes, and learns in VR. its not for everyone, but it will be (has been) adopted by the younger gens. now Zucks metaverse? that will die out like Second Life. # |
VR and 360 cameras aren't the same thing.
Jesus you're fucking dumb. We just finished a massive interactive 360 video training campaign for State Farm. Nothing "VR" about. It's just video. |

The director, Douglas Trumbull, was also trying to get his own special movie format called "Showscan", which was a high frame rate (60FPS I think) camera and projection system. The headset scenes were appearently shot in Showscan but MGM refused to back any upgrades of movie theatures to support the format. (Another bit of trivia: Douglas Trumbull also created the company "Birkshire Ridefilm" which made "Back to the Future: The Ride" at Universal Studios in Florida. The ride was replaced with The Simpsons several years ago, but there is a "Birkshire Ridefilm" easter egg visible if you know where to look. |
One thing VR companis can do with their old hardware is just forget the VR part, and instead just make 3D content. Since it would be shot on 2 cameras and delivered in true stereo video, the 3D-ness (Wordsmith!) is perfect as it is 2 distinct vidoes from 2 slightly different points of view. If the video is shot and delivered in 2K + 60FPS then you would have a pretty realistic 3D experience to offer clients.

Even the 360 part is dying a death. Some of the 360 camera makers are now splitting their products in two, so selling them as two 180 cameras for the price of one.

gaming and social for the kids are the areas with the most potential. porn not so much, but maybe dating. VR is not going anywhere with Zuck putting more than $100 billion USD into the VR metaverse. it doesn't matter what any of us old porn guys think. the big dogs are spending billions on it. Zuck said he'll dump money into it for a minimum of 5 years. # |

His best bet is to fire 70% of Metaverse people and spend the money on giving away free or subsidized VR equipment to low income people. Let VR explode in Rap music and then put all that shit on Metaverse. Let the rappers shoot each other in VR if you want this shit to go some where. Zuck the cuck idiot. :pimp |
Youtube seemed to push the VR thing, but that seems to be fading out.
People with 360 cameras seem to no longer edit in that VR format. |

Such as flight sims and space wars. The problem with META is I have yet to see a use for it. Where VR may have some bonus is such as in universities. For example teaching doctors with VR bodies may be better than just looking at pics on a book. |
Check out what was said about VR 7 years ago:
https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-b...t-content.html I wrote it then and I'll write it again now. VR will always remain a niche. It won't change with better hardware or better software/games. It won't fly because human brain will always reject VR. You've heard about seasickness. That's when our brain receives movement signals from our inner ear but no matching movement signals thru our sight. Brain turns on a "poisoned" mode. Seasickness. In VR our brain receives movement signals thru the eyes but there's no movement results such as higher blood pressure, higher heart rate, adrenaline level is not raising (because we are sitting or standing). That's again an indication for our brain to turn on the "poisoned" mode. We get dizzy. Unless human brain doesn't change the way it works, VR remains useless in mainstream. I'm waiting for MaDalton and his rude comments. :-) |

however, VR is a game changer in gaming. full immersion is better than a console or a PC. they should be targeting rich kids and millennials still in their mom's basements, not trying to change the office. # |

Now if you're an average height guy with an average sized cock, and 'your cock' in the scene is a foot further away from you where your brain is telling you your cock actually is (and while you're fapping it), that creates the sense of dissociation from the scene that kills the whole point. Not to mention it can actually be quite literally nauseatingly disorientating. |

Fitness games like Beat Saber track you as you swing your arms, duck, move from side to side etc. I spend 5 hours a week or so in a boxing simulator 'Thrill of the Fight' where your whole body is tracked as you move around your room, punching and ducking. I watch all my movies at home in VR now on a big screen in a simulation of a Chicago apartment. You can paint in VR, learn to play the piano etc. The possibilities are endless. VR/AR glasses absolutely will largely replace all other computer screens (as well as TVs) within 10 - 20 years. |

With all respect the interest in the musical genre of hip hop and rap music, in general, has been declining steadily since 2004. It's still popular today but overall the talent is slimmer and weaker than what was - the listeners know this. If the curve doesn't stop they'll risk being in the "rock" category which hasn't produced anything new and good is a long time. That being said - with rap you're only hitting a small demographic that more than likely doesn't have CC to use unless it's from parents or their efforts on youtube. |

Someone has stated that people are confusing 360 cameras with VR cameras.
I thought about this and disagree. 360 cameras are a different version of a VR camera, but none or true VR anyway. 360 is VR in the regards you can move left right up down. 360 can be done with often a front and back lenses or many lenses around such as a large ball. If you refer to vr being a camera with two lenses at the front, but at a different angle, so when you have a headset on, you get a depth, so it feels real. However you do not get to move left or right or up and down. more point of view. True vr would at this stage be computer soft wear, where the computer generates a full world, that where you move your head you with with a headset get a different version both left and right to give depth. And as you move your head the view changes. Also the sound would have to match. So if someone is speaking,on your left, that you hear them on your left with a tiny delay hitting your right ear. But once you look at them the sound should sound as if the person is in front of you. Of course this takes a huge amount of processing power and data. |
