Thoughts on cookie cutter / identical tours?

In respect of a tour layout, what are you folks thoughts on cookie cutter / identical layouts (with the exception of content, color scheme and logo) when it comes to affiliate tours and/or landing pages?

Do you think it matters from an affiliate/publisher perspective so long as the site itself sells?

Obviously, from a program owner standpoint, just having to get one layout designed and just fill with unique content and a different color scheme is more cost effective, but would something like this effect how many new affiliates sign up or, even push a specific programs sites?

Thoughts? Feedback?

The content is what generally sells but if you are concerned you can always do A/B testing to see which Tour converts better. A lot of NATS sites have generic-looking Tours. You can come up with a decent Tour from the NATS admin.

For me I test out different designs and swap them out every six-twelve months to keep things fresh. But this is only after testing the conversion rate for any new Tours. If they do not perform well I leave the old, better converting Tours up.

Depends on your volume.
Going from 1:1000 to 1:500 when you only made 5 sales per day before moves the needle, but barely. Copy can probably achieve similar results for less cost.

Going from 1:1000 to 1:500 when you had 50 (new) sales daily before means you'll make your money back in a couple days and is very worth it.

It also depends on what you call "cookie cutter". There's some shit tours that I've sent hundreds of thousands of visits to with no joins and given the program owner plenty of (free) advice to no avail. They lack basic stuff like calls to action and legible copy.

I've sent the same amount of traffic to sites in the same niche but with the "basics" (CTA, good copy, etc) covered and converted at 1:500. I wouldn't say those sites are pretty or exceptionally well designed, they just do the basics. In adult, that's not that common.
