Yandex Source Code Leaked

According to analysis from different sources, Yandex source code does not contain user data, but it does contain over 1,900 factors for ranking search results and more.

These are the top 24 ranking factors that I found to be the most interesting (omitting well known ranking factors):

#65 Crawl depth, the shorter the path to the intended document from the root, the better
#135/#767 Links from Wikipedia and the number of clicks originating from Wikipedia
#163 Age of links
#165 Unreachable pages via links (orphaned pages)
#249 Number of unique visitors (from all sources)
#250 Percentage of traffic from search engines
#331 No numbers in the urls
#480 Number of slashes in the url
#526 Number of backlinks from main / root pages
#705 Document creation age (rounded to nearest month)
#706 Document last updated age (rounded to nearest month)
#719 Number of search queries for an exact url
#720 Number of search queries for your domain name
#776 Probability of your url being the last one in a search path
#850 Number of users who have bookmarked a url
#976 Presence of a Map API (ie: Google Maps integration)
#1065 Number of keywords from search found in url (the closer to the original search, the better)
#1082 Percentage of return users within a month
#1085 Percentage of capital letters found in a title tag
#1087 Percentage of direct traffic from all incoming traffic
#1295 Link from a Verified social media account
#1609 Ratio of ads to content on a page
#1679 Javascript found for Google Analytics

Use from this list what you may find useful for your own search marketing strategies.

Nice post

DVTimes 01-28-2023 07:55 PM

I have to be honest, I have never heard of Yandex before.

DVTimes 01-28-2023 07:57 PM

Presumably within a few days they will change everything, so trying to use this info may be pointless.

plsureking 01-28-2023 09:45 PM

so basically you need return visitors and game the fuck out of Wikipedia?

(for Yandex if you even want their traffic..)

Lol what? Most of these have been unoffical ranking signals for years. The’re not going to change things.

Interesting list. Thanks for posting. I assume they copy Google to some degree.

#65 = we like main page links

#720 - I have lots of queries for my website name but "G" seems to give or take away traffic from my site depending on whether or not it likes adult after an update.

They were built to a clone of Google for the RU market and quite a few former Google staff work there. There are presumably lots of factors which Google are likely using as well.

Better to get permenent links or continue to buy renewals from other sites.

Odd, since SEs determine that, not the webmaster. It's like being a hit with the girls because you've had so many girlfriends, but you need a girl to be your girlfriend first before you can gain that status.

Do they prefer all one word?

So use key words/phrases exactly.

All caps?

Authority social media links.

Not too many ads, yet I still see those recipe sites ranking high with tons of ads. Maybe that's why they have 10k words before the recipe.

If you use our code, we'll reward you ... oh wait no ... it's about 'user experience', yeah, that's it.
