Sharing My Chaturbate Experience!

Hi folks,

This is my first post on this forum but I've been hanging around here fore the past 5 months, trying to learn what I can about the adul industry. Definitely this is a great forum so my chapeux to the webmaster and those who keep posting.

That said as the title say I am writing this post to share my experience with Chaturbate and I would really appreciate to get a feedback or any advice from you, the Masters on this niche.

In brief, back in October I bought a domain name which is chaturbatebestcamgirls.com with the idea to focus on promoting only chaturbate cam models together with some crackrevenue offers.

I bought that domain after doing a keyword search analysis. Basically, more than 3000 people per month are looking for this exact phrase on the internet (English speaking) so I thought I am going to buy a domain with that name if available and then I am going to build a site and promote it.

I went for this way because I wanted to get my website indexed by Google and Bing so that I could attract organic free traffic in the long term. WL no longer work in my view!

So, the site was up and running in one week and I started promoting the site on twitter, reddit, and redgifs plus for 3 weeks I also run ads on traffic juicy with a 100Dollar budget.

Since October, 3 months have gone and to my NO surprise I did not make any money, just one registration. Right now is February and I feel like it is a waste of time promoting that site because it does not convert. So my question is perhaps CB no longer work as it was used to be before? OR I need to change strategy? If so, what strategy do you recommend which can be implemented on 2023.

I came from the mainstream world so for me was the first time trying to promote a porn site and I found it very HARD and frustrating. You can't use tik tok or istangram and people seems not interested to buy tokens but they want only stuff for FREE.

I found it difficult even reuploading video. Yes, I did try for a little time but I really can't register individually for each website I find. Also, nowadays is no longer easy to register to big sites like porn hub or xmaster and so on.

Hence, right now I dunno what to do with the site. If anyone might be interested to buy my domain name and the site feel free to make an offer. Starting price 3000EUR.

Thank you for reading and I am looking forward to read your view on this.

Cheers!

Hey,

Just so you know - you can't use "chaturbate" in the domain name as per their Terms

Read Terms here - https://chaturbate.com/terms/appendix-b/?language=en

"Keywords; Domain Names. Notwithstanding the foregoing license to use the names of the Platform in connection with referring traffic to the Platform, you are not, as a part of this license, permitted to (i) bid on, purchase or otherwise register/use "Chaturbate," "chaturbate.com," or any other similar spelling, or use same in connection with the words "Official," "Officially" or "Official Site" as keywords or advertising words on any internet search engines, including without limitation, google.com, bing.com, ask.com, yahoo.com, etc.; use the Platform name in association with any similar or competing website or service; or (ii) register any domain name which incorporates or is a "misspelling" or variation of "Chaturbate." You agree that in the event you violate any part of this section of the Terms, your account will be immediately terminated, any monies earned but not yet paid will be forfeited, and that you will cooperate fully in transferring any items forbidden by this section to the Company as the rightful owner. Subject to the foregoing limitations and pursuant to the license granted herein, eligible Community Members will be permitted to use any website domain name they choose in connection with promoting the Platform, so long as such website domain name(s) registered does not infringe on our or any third party's intellectual property rights, or defame, insult or otherwise harass anyone, and does not promote or suggest any illegal activity. chaturbatebestcamgirls.com will be a ban on your account and probably they will not pay you.

This would apply to probably any business you promote regardless if it is porn or not.

The domain name is worth $0.

It is just so easy to make cash with Chaturbate.

Every two weeks this is me:

NoWhErE 02-01-2023 04:26 PM

Also, 3,000 searches per month in adult is worth nothing unless it's a super high intent keyword... and even then.

You need to aim WAAAAAY higher.

dUbster 02-01-2023 05:08 PM

As soon as I saw that domain name I told myself it was over

I think you've missed an important memo here because about a decade ago or so, duplicated content stopped getting you free organic traffic.

I believe, you've might have missed that second important memo about Chaturbate's noindex tag as well. :helpme

The good news? If you put in actual research first, after that, it's all just piece of cake really...
From this point, all you've got left to worry about is beating those other million competing websites.:stoned

Thank All For your Reply!

After reading all your comments I feel like I toke a cold shower today. My bad!!!

My bad that I did not read the terms of service of Chaturbate. I did not know that we can't use the keyword chaturbate on a new domain name. This policy really sucks!

Now I understand why I am not getting any conversion. However, I want to tell you that 3months have gone and Chaturbate never contact me or told me anything about that. I guess they can see where the traffic is coming from, so if what I did was against their policy rules, at least they could have been informed me that I was on the wrong path.

I really thought I was doing the right thing and the reason I supported my idea was due to the fact that I was trying to go niche, focusing on a small number of people who were only keen on chaturbate and my idea was only to show up the top cam girls so helping viewers to quick find the best gems.

I came to the conclusion now that my website is just rubbish.

So, what would you suggest me to do now? I think there is no way to change the domain name.

Thank you again for your reply! Today I learned a lesson!!!

:Oh crap

The fact that you own a domain that can get you banned has nothing to do with the failure of your plan.

1/ Chaturbate will not care about your business until you start making money. Real money.
2/ What was the engagement on social medias? Did you promote it though new and empty accounts or with real followed accounts?
3/ Have you worked your SEO? How are you planning on acquiring trafic if you don't rank top 1 on that keyword?

This is not meant as an insult, but they didn't say anything probably because they haven't noticed you. The amount of traffic you sent is negligible and probably ends up in the tail-end of an affiliate traffic report.

The first lesson mainstream people learn when coming to adult is they have to understand the sheer scope of traffic in adult vs mainstream.

It's fine though, we were all new to this industry at one point or another and many of us made the same mistakes.

Alex CZ 02-02-2023 10:55 AM

They don't convert. Too many traffic leaks.

KrisKross 02-02-2023 02:30 PM

The domain name is not your issue - once you start making money, you'd probably get away with it at least for a little bit.

Personally, I think the site is pretty ugly. Amateur design, awful colour and font scheme, bouncing text and bright red text poorly contrasting against the wrong background colour... All that's missing is an "Under Construction" gif to complete the look. Doesn't breed trust, I doubt many stick around on the site let alone happily hand over their personal data and credit card numbers.

Take a look around at other cam promo sites to get an idea of what works well.

agree 100%

the yellow color gave me a headache and combined with the red and blue it's like McDonalds and 1800's New England had a really ugly baby. it screams cheap and like KrissKross wrote it doesn't look professional or inspiring of trust. if I were you I'd axe the yellow and red and work with the blue, adding a complimentary color or black (would look really compelling against the blue) and some white or something like #dee5ec. just anything that's not what you have currently

a neat tool for color selections can be found here

as for the domain, if I were you I'd get a new one now, and 301 the current site to it so you don't lose any link juice you've built already. plan to get rid of it though, before it becomes a problem

good luck

Thank you again for your feedback folks!

Soon I will change the name of the site and come up with something else but always in the adult niche.

Apart from cam sites what niche would you recommend trying? Also, what strategy do you use to promote your porn site at the beginning apart from buying ads.

:Oh crap

If you really had done mainstream affiliate marketing, you would have already known this policy since just about every program whether mainstream or adult will prohibit you using their name in a domain. At least you know now and can just let it expire vs building it way up in earnings only to have CB seize it.

I wouldn't spend time building a domain name around another persons website. We all have seen website programs come and go.

Learn API, don't use WLs.
Make your own brandable name for the site.

Also, another advice is do not focus on just one sponsor. Test other sponsors as well with your traffic.
