How concerned are you about all those new "age verifications" laws concerning adult content?

The French government is preparing an age certification scheme to block access to pornographic websites for minors.

The UK is currently debating in Parliament its Online Security Bill, as the government wants to make it compulsory for websites to use reliable age verification technology.

In the southern US state of Louisiana, a law has required since 1 January 2023 that a copy of an ID be presented before entering websites with at least a third of their content "harmful to minors".

How concerned are you by those things? Will you implement something or just ignore it?

Not at all. This has been going on for 10+ years now.

Exactly what Markul said - it's been going on way past 10 years and the majority of the adult industry takes it seriously about keeping porn away from kids. That being said - we're also concerned how much information and interference the government is taking into our business and way of life.

People will always want to view porn and for most giving ID or proof of their age more than typing in their birthday would be welcome if it's real intent is to keep kids from viewing. Problem is keeping that ID approved profile away from the kids since it often is on the home computer or laptop/phone. Kids are sneaky and can easily grab parents ID or even grab a copy from the net

just a quick google of american photo ID and you'll get a plethera of ID's sitting right there to use

so - someone has to be smart enough to figure it out eventually. I mean you hear of kids ordering thousands of dollars worth of product off of Amazon on parents CC - and that's a bitch to get back.

I agree that up until now, nothing too concrete happened. But it is the fact that those ideas multiply that concerns me. Ultimately, I think that some countries will start to block adult sites who do not restrict the access with some kind of ad hoc tech.

I posted a thread regarding this here a week ago. The French are going to use a government passport system, you give your details, they give you an access number, the whole net into France would be porn blocking, unless you use your passport access...

it could effect the business, unless users want to trust giving their information over to the government :2 cents:

customers will just use VPN. they can't control consumers no matter how hard they try.

where is the age verification for corporate sites? corporations do a lot more damage to society than porn sites. they are only worried about censoring the most natural thing in the world? shame on France.

Some people will use VPNs, but not every one will. If this become a reality, a lot of websites will lose some traffic.

agree. When there are social issues, they go for the low-hanging fruit.... like gun control, why protect the schools when you can raise money trying to overturn a constitutional amendment? no money in protecting schools, no votes.
