Another SCAM Alert: EvolvedAd Marketing
On 09/28/2022 I posted on GFY looking for some Mainstream Email leads: https://gfy.com/mainstream-business-...ail-lists.html I have been working with a mainstream client that requested them.
Shortly after that thread, I was contacted by Alex from EvolvedAd Marketing. We talked for many days about what I was looking and the process, deadline etc... for via Skype and Phone calls. A deal was made for $1600 for those leads. 50% was due upon agreement and the remaining upon delivery. Which at the time was supposed to be a few weeks. $800 was paid via BTC and quickly there after, I was given the round around...and for weeks. With every excuse you can imagine. (Holidays, Staffing Issues, Travelling...) Finally, Alex told me that company was (all the sudden) sold to his partner. A person named "Igor". and that I was to deal with Igor exclusively going forward. :helpme Of course that Igor person gave me the same run around when I requested a refund. By then, my client had moved on... Igor kept BS'ing at every reply: "we need a new invoice" "we need a new memo" "we are having issues with "BTC" "bring it up to Mike, our accountant" When I went back to Alex and asked for help, he literally told me to fuck off. :thumbsup It's now almost March 2023 and they went silent. No refund, no communication. Just be careful, more and more scammers seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately. I hope this prevents them from scamming more people. I will update this thread, if by some miracle, they decide to finally reply and refund me. Stay Safe out there :winkwink: |
So sorry to hear that - this happens way to often when people reach out to others who think they are "experts" or "veterans" of the industry who take your money and run with it. Be careful who you're dealing with and check references and backgrounds if you don't know them
|
Do you have Skype addresses of those involved?
I'd be nice to add to my blacklist ;) |
Well, Im not surprised his name is Alex. He is a well-known scammer. Keep in mind that he does not have any account in his name and likely will ask you to pay him in crypto.
|
lol Igor

isn't it weird if you Google "EvolvedAd Marketing" it doesn't return a single result? red flag IMO :2 cents:

I got burned badly. He was coming back here under different nicks but got revealed and busted. Its always the same, marketing and SEO services. How did you get in touch with him? Does he have an open thread where he offers his services or he magically added you on skype/telegram out of nowhere? |

there is no info in this thread that would help others to spot this scammer and not deal with him. "EvolvedAd Marketing" is nothing, there is no company with such name, he just made that name up so he can easily come under different name and scam again.

sorry you got burned but like, they don't even have a website ?
like isn't it the absolute first thing to ask is : what is your website ? Just looking at the website already tells you A LOT about who you are dealing with |

a few tips that I hope will help peeps from getting fucked over in the future by thieving assholes like this...they just saunter around casting their net and it's despicable. but there are a few clues as to whether you're dealing with one of those:
1) established web presence. like S, I couldn't find anything about this company in goog search. a marketing company. I do suspect OP you were led to a web property that either isn't theirs and you didn't notice, or maybe just a simple transfer of a site from one disposable URL to another or something. but still, a marketing co without a social presence be it media or boards? huge red flag right there it happens, and I'm not blaming you for what transpired in any way. just something everyone should look out for 2) what is the contact info on the site? not a contact form, an actual domain email address where you can verify you are indeed speaking with person X from the board 3) website and domain ownership of the property confirmed: how long has the site existed? do they have reviews anywhere? 4) any positive feedback here? how long have they been here and how active are they? taking into account that those who frequent the 'business needs' stuff might not be all that active up here, you can still get a sense of someone you're thinking of sending money to based on their behaviour over time. post history searches are easy 5) never arrange agreements over telegram/skype/signal/whatsapp or anywhere that messages can be deleted, unless trust has been both proven and established with someone new-to-you when arranging parameters, stick to email. no one but you can delete that. important if you ever need to do a pp dispute/credit card cb against someone trying to steal from you (all this is general stuff unrelated to the OP) @CamTraffic, I hope you tell xbiz about this if any info there matches this dude. again sorry you got burned |

It came to the point where he was using someone else's website and company info as his, hoping that none of us would check the accuracy of his claims. |
