No, not really, but this is pretty funny.

There is a 10th annual Beer festival coming up in a couple months that I have been promoting for like 8 years, with every year I have a promo code that I give my readers to save money on the tickets. About 3 weeks ago I requested my new promo code and just heard back today

Apparently the guy that sets up the promo codes set it up at the beginning of the year but forgot to tell me about it so he sent me an email today giving me the code. At the end of the email he informed me that 23 people had already figured out the code and used it.

Like he said, I have some pretty smart fans.

That's kinda awesome.

I think a lot of hacking is just recognizing and utilizing patterns.

In the early days of online adult, I was fascinated by referring stats. I recall being accused of "hacking" someone's stats, simply for having thought to type in likely paths for popular stats programs.

I'm sure that is exactly what was happening because I could see my stats if people were looking up promo codes for previous events. Like my contact said it was pretty easy to figure out if you were paying attention. I just do not give out unauthorized promo codes, even if I know they work.

There is an event tomorrow that I was given a promo code that was saved everyone $5, if you made a typo you could end up getting half off

Some browsers/apps auto-detect and try out different promo codes for people automatically these days, could have been that.

I highly doubt that is the situation in this case.
