XVIDEOS RED (paid version) stops credit card option

Spotted a thread in this over at xbiz today worth reading.

In a nutshell, they are only taking crypto now. I've got a decent size library in there that was making pretty decent money but I assume this will now drop to pennies regardless of what the crypto advocates say.

Now that PH Premium and XVideos RED are gone, XHamster wins the "last man standing" game.

It was fun while it lasted!

Actually if you access with EU ip to pornhub there is option to pay with SEPA, which is EU variant of ACH transfer. On xvideos i dont see option to pay without registering.

Shedevils 03-03-2023 01:12 PM

They said we MUST sign up with Sheer.com. Did anyone else get pressured to do this?

I guess we know why now, it's a money issue.

gar 03-03-2023 06:37 PM

Well, this is the way to go. Adult should adopt Crypto! Stop paying high rate to processors!! :1orglaugh

baodb 03-03-2023 11:13 PM

I am not familiar with whatever weird payment shit is happening in the USA but in EU many merchants make good money with SEPA direct debit and manual SEPA transfers. Why exactly can't that be done with ACH to stick it to the credit card companies?

shimmy2 03-03-2023 11:41 PM

Just got the news too, hopefully they can fix the processing issue. Isn't WGCZ a big company, like penthouse owns them or something? Surely something can be figured out. I only see the crypto option showing here and red stats are all in the negative overnight. I'm sure this will be a big thread. Alternatives? I'm all ears

Probably for same reason why USA is not adapting metric system like rest of the world :1orglaugh

Did not know how they have penthouse, according to wiki entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XVideos

Keep in mind pornhub is bigger yet they did not solve their cc issue yet.

Well according to this ACH is supposedly capable of doing the exact same low fee debit transfers.

It's not about capability but more about willingness to use it.

Fair enough but before I kill my business with "Crypto only" why not see if customers will adopt ACH/SEPA debit to at least maintain some kind of revenue...

intocams 03-04-2023 05:26 AM

The next step is to plug-in a crypto service that accepts cards

Back in the day sites had "Pay By Check" option which was basically an ACH authorize, the user enters their routing and account number. There was no way to actually verify funds and it was an unreliable way to charge people. One benefit was the account details never expired like credit cards do, so good members did rebill for longer.

The only way to verify funds exist would be to use one of the many consumer layers on top of the bank system (Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp), which don't allow adult or support recurring billing. They also all lean on credit card processing too. ACH is 70 years old and was not meant for ecommerce or quick, easy, secure payments.

So you have no idea of how much of your revenues are (were) credit card, and how much were crypto ?

shimmy2 03-04-2023 08:51 PM

the xbizz post is more helpful in explaining whats up. i thought with all the video renaming for compliance everything was cool. people will find a way to monetize a similar model will come up very soon. be interesting to hear from traffic brokers tubes main sponsors

I am surprised it lasted this long, Colin. You know my fondness for tube sites runs deep.

Huge profit loss for them.

Nothing is permanent, nikki . . .

Mr Pheer 03-05-2023 05:28 AM

Does this have something to do with everything in adult being considered "human trafficking" these days?

I didn't have an xbiz account until a few minutes ago and it hasn't been approved yet.

The more people who move to BTC the better. When a huge platform is forced to adapt, culture is inevitably down stream.

I was stuck in traffic today and apparently I was trafficked.

Yea they weaponized that word like they did with “racist” and “nazi” and it only hurts the actual victims. 45 y.o hags are claiming this now. Then you get liars like eliza bleu who make it even worse :(

SpicyM 03-08-2023 05:56 AM

They were pushing the boundaries and didn't give a fuck when I warned them about channels with content that is illegal in Czechia, like these:

https://www.xvideos.com/channels/cumkeys (still ignored)
https://www.xvideos.com/channels/spybeach (now blocked)

They host(ed) content depicting people drinking and vomitting, people shot without their consent, videos evoking sex with animals (yes, that includes animations) or sex with family members etc..

Vendo, their biller, too didn't give a fuck when I reported it to them.

Now, they are fucked. Should have listened to me, ROFL... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
