Georgia is a developing country and, especially in Batumi, a lot of development is going on. More and more foreigners invest into the place... Speaking of investments, my brother has a whole lot of land for sale in Batumi. In case anyone interested, hit me up.

USD goes a long way around here. Studio apartments in one of them towers in city centre sell for $30-40k. Two bedroom rent is under $1k

My Russian partner has always encouraged me to visit Georgia, which offers very good wine, and excellent BBQ. The country is near Sochi which has good skiing.

Not true. Younger generation Georgians generally speak English. Lots of Russians that moved here are fluent in English also.

There will be a lot of shit. Politicians are full of shit. The shit hits the fan when Russia attacks. And many people will shit in their pants when it starts. And it will end up in a shitty situation. I hope russia retracts their shit. A nice dutch saying: "De Keutel Intrekken". That is the moment when you feel the shit pushes your asshole star a little. Well, I'm in Georgia and I'm telling you that it's not true(Batumi is a bit different from the rest of Georgia though imo). There is also at least one other gfyer here as well, maybe they can confirm / disconfirm.

But you certainly are entitled to your opinion either way...
