Wearing black suit w/ pink tie for mom's wake.

While for me it's a statement of the celebration of her life vs how much this fucking hurts/sucks, my 3 sisters believe it will be miss understood by the gathering.

Mom is still alive, but in last stages with the pink elephant.

What a
ROCK she was.

After 20 years, feels warm that I can post/vent here. Thank you.:)

I'd just do whatever you want to do. This is between you and your mother and you should look at it from the perspective of whether or not you will regret doing, or not doing whatever you wanted 10 years from now.

Sorry for your loss.

In the UK it used to be always all black, but in the last few years people go colourful, as they feel this is what the deceased wanted and in truth if it makes you feel better then so be it.

Perhaps if I was you I would contact everyone going and say can you wear something colourful rather than black.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. It sounds like she was an amazing women to you and your family. Do what makes YOU feel good because that's all that really matters when it comes to the passing of someone you love. Everyone deals with it differently but in the end you have to feel you did the right thing for YOU.

It's your mother you do what you want..

Cherish every moment you have left with her and honor her the way your heart tells you to honor her.

She is your Mom and will 'get it' more than anyone else. :)

I presume she had died.

Sadly a few years ago, my mother passed, fighting for 7 years. Likewise, before she went, we had a kind of wake, a small gathering at home, so many people come to see her, while still alive.

nothing wrong with this.

When we have funerals, those who have passed away, they´re not there, maybe in spirit, we hope, as we, humans, like to feel love and care. We´re just making things right for missing those who have passed & we couldn´t be there all the time for them.

Doing this for your mum, while still alive, is lovely! And yes, wear any lovely colour, bright and beautiful, as your mother is and as i did for my mother, as she was.

Best wishes for your time with your mum, hope you have many more memories before her resting place Fidel!

Love from both me & Gary! xx
