How is INFLATION in your neck of the woods?
See title :thumbsup:thumbsup
|
There is regular inflation in my area plus small town in the mountains' inflation
|
18.4% officially, but tbh food is about twice as expensive. A kilo of tomatos is about 10 euros now.

Stuff has really gone up - Especially Food (Something I buy a lot of)
Used to get 2 lots of fish & chips delivered - It was £8 per portion = £16 - Would hand the delivery guy a £20 and tell him to keep the change. Then suddenly its £9 per portion = £18 - I still did the same... Today its £13 per portion! = £26 !!! And on top, they want a £3 delivery charge... That's nearly £30 for some fish n fucking chips. I know costs are up all over, but nearly £30 for something that was £16 when I started ordering it, it simply just taking the piss. So I dont order it anymore - No huge loss to me - But a regular order a couple of times a weeks loss to the guy who sells it... :2 cents: I dont like feeling that I'm having my pants pulled down, that's all... Plus the frozen microwave meals have gone up. The ones that were £1.50 each are now 2 for £5 = £2.50 each and stuff that cost a £1 before is now £1.69 and around 100g smaller too... I dont mind paying the extra for that food though, cause its tasty, easy & quick to cook and delivered to my door in bulk for free... The problem is though that a lot of dishes have disappeared from the menu now, as they dont wanna put the prices up any more than they have already... So there's certain stuff I can no longer get... On the flipside though, they have started paying interest on money in my bank account again - That stopped completely a few years ago, but even the ISA's (Tax Free Savings) have started paying interest again, so not all bad... That said though I moved the maximum allowance from my isas to the 'Premium Bonds' back when they stopped paying interest, but it would take me 3 years to move it back to the ISAS now interest has started again, cause theres a maximum allowance that you can put in an isa each year... So I can only move a bit at a time... |
Everything is more expensive.
The one thing I've noticed the most is food, restaurants, fast food... I don't eat out often but when I do it's like "holy shit". |
Food and real estate are excessively high...

I have seen some prices double overnight here.
|
Lol, in Argentina it's about 100% last year :)
|
Inflation doesn't affect me when my savings is in Bitcoin
|
This irresponsible government printing & spending will cause hyperinflation eventually. Some believe hyperinflation is coming within the next 3 months (I don't think it'll come that soon). If it does, expect prices to get MUCH higher. :Oh crap

In my local coop a box of cereal was £4. I notice fuel a lot more when doing shoots. I used to put £10 in and it would give me about 100 miles. Now £10 seems to give me 60 to 70 miles. |
most products here in Spain haven´t changed much, maybe imports, baked beans have doubled in price, but all groceries are still quiet cheap, and all from Spain, so no importing. Wine & beer is still cheap, 1 ltr of vino for less than a quid and similar on beer, estrella, san miguel, about a dollar a litre. Diesel & petrol are still about 1.50 a litre, so not bad. Rent is good, our rent went up by 50€ last year, now 8 years after staying in the same apartment with sea views & our own private roof solarium. No up on car insurance, tax & vat, the same % as 2015.
Viva Espana :thumbsup |
Going to get way worse as the saudis are in talks with china and russia to leave the petro dollar.
This was so stupid and what’s happening is exactly what we said would happen—drive russia and all their abundance of natural resources into the arms of china. At least we made the eu energy dependent on the usa. That’s why blowing up norstream wasn’t an act of war towards russia. It was an act of kindness and friendship towards the eu. |

Food is up a lot here

Fortunately, the price of a "short time with happy ending" with the bar girls in my neighborhood has changed little. :winkwink:

What was $1800 a month in 2010 went to $2600 a month around 2019 and is now $3400 in 2023.
But... I'm seeing prices in rentals and homes for sale going down. A lot. Predicting they will drop dramatically in the next 6 to 8 months. Bad time to change houses right now. Wait and you will be rewarded. Food. What used to be $80 a few years ago is now $105 or more. Hotel rooms went up a good amount. But you have to get out and enjoy yourself. |
