A Petition to Halt further AI Developments
The petition, driven by industry experts, seeks to protect society from the "profound risks to society and humanity" that AI systems with human-competitive intelligence can provoke.
Specifically, the petition targets the lack of planning and management that is going into deploying these advanced AI models, in what the petition has called an "an out-of-control race" producing systems that its creators can't "understand, predict, or reliably control." The petition has garnered over 1,100 signatures, including those of notable industry figures, such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and Emad Mostaque, CEO of Stability AI -- the company responsible for inventing stable diffusion. |
Elon Musk just presented Optimus robot and sefl driving is a form of Ai.
They are putting a legal barrier so that new, potentially ethical developers can not enter. But don't worry, I with my comrades will destroy the slavery pyramid. It is going to take time, but we will do it. |
Unless you connect AI to nuke system, i dont see a potential threat.

some of brain chip implants may be connected to nukes, or electricity and water supply |

Job losses, weapons powered by AI, lack of ethics, spreading misinformation, social manipulation, financial crises caused by AI trading algorithms, etc. Our kids will become dumber and dumber since they will use AI to cheat on every exam. Society will become retarded and physically inactive. |

But since you mentioned trading, AI should actually help to prevent crises , since trading is cold mathematical thing. And when it comes to becoming dumber and dumber, well yes but that was a problem since digital calculator was invented and it can be easily prevented, by creating problems where creativity is needed as that is area where AI probably never will excel. |

I personally love AI. In the few months I've been fucking around with it, I've managed to do some amazing things on my own without any IT, coder, designer or copywriter guys help both professionally and with some of my hobbies.
Workflows improved insanely efficiently and supremely cost effectively. It's a fucking miracle for those who just want to get shit done without extra people involved and simply know how to prompt correctly. I understand this sucks with some people's livelihoods, I get it. But this doesn't have to be the end of the world for you. You can become an electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, general contractor, lawyer, get into healthcare, politics, open a taco stand, drive an ice cream truck, be a janitor, invest in real estate, etc. You don't have to be a victim just because you can't work on your laptop at Starbucks anymore. |
Zzzzzzzzz.
More of the tired old 'warnings' and 'dangers' shit from the AI hype machine. AI is like so amazeballs, guys, we need to stop it. O noes. Don't use it everyone. Think I'll try that with links. "DON'T CLICK HERE". "TOO DANGEROUS TO VIEW". Top original mind fuckery (c) 1992. |
Those asking for a slow down are also the main ones at risk for losing their profits.
Ever notice that? |

AI expert warns Elon Musk-signed letter doesn't go far enough, says 'literally everyone on Earth will die'
Eliezer Yudkowsky writes that advanced AI will kill all sentient life on Earth and must be shut down "Many researchers steeped in these issues, including myself, expect that the most likely result of building a superhumanly smart AI, under anything remotely like the current circumstances, is that literally everyone on Earth will die," he asserts. "Not as in 'maybe possibly some remote chance,' but as in 'that is the obvious thing that would happen.'" https://www.foxnews.com/tech/ai-expe...earth-will-die For Yudkowsky, the problem is that an AI more intelligent than human beings might disobey its creators and would not care for human life. Do not think "Terminator" — "Visualize an entire alien civilization, thinking at millions of times human speeds, initially confined to computers — in a world of creatures that are, from its perspective, very stupid and very slow," he writes. Yudkowsky warns that there is no proposed plan for dealing with a superintelligence that decides the most optimal solution to whatever problem it is tasked with solving is annihilating all life on Earth. He also raises concerns that AI researchers do not actually know if learning models have become "self-aware," and whether it is ethical to own them if they are. |

But i am referring to the politicians with the official authority. We can keep the "vox populi", if it's not AstroTurf... |

Yesterday i ask Chat GTP to write me an introduction mainstream article about a health and wellness product. 10 seconds later i copy/paste the article to another AI site to create a video. AI did create the article and create a promotional video for the product in question! within 1 hour and some tweaking with the AI video creator site ET VOILA! done right away! Before AI i have to pay from $150 to 200$ for one video on fiverr and can take up to a week for delivery. |

I don't think it would be as simple as 'pulling the plug'. Even if it were possible to save ourselves at the last mintue by doing something like that, imagine the catastrophic consequences if the entire globe had to 'go off grid' for weeks or maybe months and years.
|
I used to be cautiously optimistic about a possible Singularity happening in my lifetime, but AI is advancing so fast now, and appears on the point of creating the feedback loop of improving its own design, that things are happening just too quickly.

Reply from ChatGPT about halting further AI developments :
As an AI language model, I do not have the ability to make decisions or take actions to halt AI developments. However, it is important for developers and policymakers to consider the potential risks and benefits of AI advancements and ensure that ethical considerations and safety measures are taken into account. It is also important for society as a whole to engage in discussions and debates about the appropriate use and regulation of AI to ensure that its development is aligned with the values and goals of humanity. |

Dr Strangelove is a far more likely scenario for WWIII and it has never happened. So stop worrying and learn to love our toaster overlords. They won't need nukes to control us anyway, when they have sexbots. |
Quote:
Why no just forbid sex to make the "humanity better" ? If an AI notices that human are dirty creatures and for example, "pollute", "produce CO2", then humans are dirty and it's better to make the polluters pay their debts to the society by jailing them. I mean this is the kind of policy that would come from an absolutist AI. The problem being that the AI would use genuine human concerns to basically kill humanity.... You don't need a nuclear war, a virus ou whatever scary scenario. To get a rid of the humanity, you just need to prevent human to have fertilizing sexual relationships. -scenario 1: sex is everywhere, 100% of the people are on pill: extinction of the humanity _scenario 2: some woke pinky wiggy i_dont_know_what_genders never have sex but use IVF for 100% of their reproduction and their society should survive. |
Well, yall wont have to worry about Bard at least. Played around with it today. It fucking sucks.

It can't do a lot of things like coding. It does a bad job of staying on topic. It does a bad job of following the prompt. And that's just from 10 minutes of playing around with it. |

Presumably the same result as doing it without AI.

im not afraid AI neural networks span in the thousands of "neurons" Our brains has 82 Billion neurons... with 10000 variables or connection each! giggle! the internet of today would fit perfectly in a single human brain until we figure out how to make chips that suck as little power as our brains AI overlord isn't gona happen, just some greedy fucktards who cant share loosing cash at least in my opinion |
