Dutch court bans amateur videos without permission on xhamster
 

Short version.

Dutch court decided that xhamster is not allowed to show amateur material anymore unless all persons depicted have given permission to do so.

The ban applies worldwide if the material shows people living in the Netherlands.

This probably only affects old vids as last time I logged in they ask for model ID and model release, so presumably new vids will be ok.

Not sure what has been decided on old video's but just like pornhub they probably have to delete those.

Why would anything think that such videos would be smart to post online anyway?

Who would have guessed?

That was actually intended more as a hypothetical question about the reverse conclusion.
Whether the banning of content by national courts, against foreign servers and content providers,
conversely, allows content to be shown on the foreign server that is questionable at the server location and company headquarters.

The type of content (porn, gambling, drugs, weapons, same-sex relationships, hate speak, defamation)
and country constellation can be exchanged arbitrarily for this question.


Who is the next, a Saudi to sue Pornhub for gay porn because homosexuality is criminalized in Saudi Arabia?
A Thai guy suing Youtube for deleting his hash channel but cannabis is not illegal in Thailand?
A desi husband sues Youporn because indian law allows him to show his wife naked where he wants?

There are people writing fake DMCA pretending it's their wife, daughter etc all the time.

Probably they will lobby for an EU internet filter next.
