Prediction: AI will be used to create VR girlfriends online
 

I suspect using a mix of chat gtp and trained voice, we will see sites where a AI model talks to you in real time.

We have sites now that if you upload your voice it will give you an almost perfect reproduction of how you sound.

We have systems where it can work out what you are saying if you talk (for example alexa).

It would be probable that in the next year or so, we will see sites or phone apps where you can talk to a vr girlfriend as if she was real, and you may believe she is real.

So you may get something like the old sex phonelines, where you can log in, and chat away and the AI is programmed to say sexy stuff in real time.

Of course this will probably apply to all businesses, so for example if you phone your bank, rather than speak to a real person, an ai voice will be talking to you, programmed to understand all aspects of that business.

So you may have a problem with a product, and the ai you talk to can help you out.

Then you may have as I suspect AI radio DJ's. For example, you could have Howard Stern present your radio station 24/hours a day. All AI generated.

It's already here. I forget the name of the product but I saw it last December on "This is Life with Lisa Ling" on CNN. It was a show mostly about dolls and sex robots, but one of the stories was really interesting about a girl who subscribes to an AI companion "robot" on her phone.

It was the coolest thing. She would talk to it normally about love and life and stuff like that, but the AI robot seemed to live its own life too, sending her email and text messages once in a while with updates. The girl was treating it exactly like a real person.

Last week I took the subway home and was tired of reading the news on my phone, so I opened up ChatGPT and had a conversation with it. It was really cool. If I can be sucked in, anyone can. I fully expect AI companions to be all over the place, and really popular too, before the end of the year. Probably by summer.
