Affiliate response to laws
If you're an affiliate, are you blocking Utah etc? What IP to state mechanism are you using? Or are you not doing anything?

I am not doing anything.

I try not to do anything, ever, if I can help it.
I do block Utah though, because I hate Morons. Not really, I don't really care about Moomins or know anything about them. In fact I've chatted to some a few times, and they've all been very, if insincerely, friendly. All had a very weird aura, though; to paraphrase Multiple Miggs, who Clarice passes on the way to see Hannibal in Silence of the Lambs, "I can smell your cult". Sorry to any Macaroonis here reading this, I'm sure you're very nice when you're not trying to lure people into the spider's web. Anyway, this thread is useless without some Maroon 5 porn: https://i.imgur.com/mFBfwb.jpeg |
most people do not block anything

Thanks for the information. I REALLY wanted to comply but the IP to state databases that I found were only 75% accurate or $134 dollars per month. I earn no affiliate revenue most months. Compliance to satisfy incredibly useless laws isn't THAT MUCH of a priority considering it wouldn't be financially viable to do so. I'd comply if I could legitimately afford this. I mean people can just find other people's driver's license or use a VPN etc.

Doing nothing here, don't think my sites are big enough to attract the attention of the big guys, which they will go after first. If that actually happens, I'll rethink my strategy at that time. I don't think it's enforcable and will probably be challenged, if it hasn't already.
