I use both. Some of the things I use will not run on Mac, and I do not like using bootcamp to run windows. So my windows pc just sits off to the side and I use remote admin to log into it from my mac. Works really well.

Moved away from Mac as they just can't keep up performance wise and always seem to be behind. Still no real news on the new Mac Pro Silicone either.
A maxxed out Mac Studio Ultra was decent for the first year but now the 4090 cards are out, they runs rings around the Studio.

Neither OS is perfect but Windows I find is more snappy to work with.

OneHung is pimping his Mac to the max with huge ass RAM.
I like seeing this!
I thought my new MSI notebook I pimped with 64GB is having a lot RAM on it, but over 300GB is another dimension :thumbsup

One time when I worked at Apple, I sold a $6k Mac Pro, even though I was with Applecare/tech support. So an employee told me to use my Apple ID to make the sale so that I would get some commission, but that made it ship to my house accidentally.. lol

I think I have a pretty unique Setup.

My workstation is a Mac M1 Mini with 16 Gigs of Ram and a 49" Ultra-wide monitor, as well as an Intel NUC PC with 64 Gigabytes of Ram which I have sitting on my network rack. I connect to it from my Mac via Virtual Desktop. The NUC is running Windows 11 Pro, pus a few virtual machines including Windows Server (For Domain Controller, Active Directory, etc) and an Ubunutu Server, plus a couple of virtual Windows 10 Machines and a Virtual Network switch. All accessible from my Mac.

Why? For educational purposes. I started doing this during Covid as I had mainstream clients who wanted to migrate from their phyical offices to cloud services like Azure and AWS.

If you like learning stuff and are a geek with no friends or social life like me, then I strongly suggest you setup a Home Lab similar to this. It really helps to strengthen your IT skills.

Still on a quadcore i7 Dell with 16gb ram I bought in 2014 running Linux Mint... it won't die, but I did have to get an external wifi adapter to get any signal in my office.

It shouldn't be too hard - Mac's seem to hold their value really well. I sold a couple of 2010 iMac 27's for $700 each back in 2018... Try selling on Facebook marketplace - it works really well for me.

It's funny that you say that but I guess we run different applications. I find my M1 Mac (Apple Silicon) to be lightening-fast compared to my older Intel-based Mac. I was going to buy the new M2 Mac but decided I didn't really need it.

Asus Vivobook
Intel I5-10210U - 4CPUs 8threads
