In a move sure to divide customer opinions, Lidl Ireland is now selling “Soya and Insect” burgers as part of their My Street Food range. The burgers, which sell in packs of two for €2.99 each, are made from “textured soya flour and ground dried mealworm larva,” and are labelled “insect burgers” in stores. |
ive been eating bugs for years. not the fancy ones, but the ones that live down the side of my bed... Saves getting up if I get peckish in the night...
|
More products available seems like a plus. No reason for division until someone tries to enforce their burger choice on others.

Burger King heavily promoted their Impossible Whopper last year, a highly processed meatless burger with just as much saturated fat and even more sodium than the regular Whopper. Burger King just announced they are closing 400 stores . . .

Regardless, we have to try something... meat is killing us and the planet. |
An AR 10 is good for hunting elk and that's one tasty animal. So the industrial food industry can go fuck itself. You'll never have to eat bugs when you can hunt!
Now, for anyone that wants to anger the idiots who will eat bugs then buy an AR 15 and use it to kill bugs. Because you know, an AR 15 is a better choice for hunting small game. |
Anything soy makes men grow boobs. Males need to stay away from Soy. Bugs can't digest properly, it will eventually kill you. It's all planned.

Did not seen such thing yet in my lidl. But i did seen it in Tesco years ago already.

"Killing us & planet" maybe focus on lack of exercise, bad diet, obesity, smoking, medicine-to-"fix"-everything mentality, plastics consumption, single use plastic wastefulness, etc, and you'd be on to something true for once. |
They should start selling rocks for vegans.

And all this fucking virtue signaling shit. Paper straws in individual plastic wrappers. I can buy a 4 pack of yogurts each in an individual one-time-use thing. Water bottles, bottle caps. Nothing is fixable, phone batteries can't be replaced, phones are specifically made to be slippery to fall out of your hands at every opportunity because they can't have you going 2 years with the same phone. My wife has the motorola flip phone - I swear to god every time I touch try to open it it feels like it's gonna fly out of my hands. We waste so, so much producing shit like this and people are worried about cows farting. |
Why would someone soil the sacred name of burgers this way? WTF!

The red colour is made form bugs in the EU.
Millions of people eat bugs in south America, Asia etc. There's a world outside the US. Visiting it might ensure America doesn't become Florida |
In Thailand, edible insects are available in some markets. :winkwink:

lol... what a joke the human race has become. ALL MORONS Klaus Schwaub said it very accurately, "we will provide an extermination service and those exterminated will PAY for it"... that's you home slice :2 cents: |

Totally agree with you on weird stuff like singling out straws and then being fine with all the other stuff you mentioned. I don't eat processed sugar and it's no hardship at all when I cook for myself. Almost all frozen convenience food is off the table for me and I just have to accept, when dining out, that I won't 100% meet my goals. |
