I received the same email. It's probably just the standard procedure, but it is a bit weird.

It is probably as you say. They just replied: "The previous request is referring to your usage of the Paxum Card outside the Home Jurisdiction for security measures."

Just wonder if I will have to reply to such a request every time I use the card abroad. I travel a lot. :-))

They should only ask if its been you using the card in a new country, nothing else, as its NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!!

Probably not. I suggest you tell them that you expect to travel to the same and other countries soon and use the card there regularly.

The best thing to do is to check with them of course, but to me it looks like Paxum is just looking out for you, and for themselves, making sure that no one is using your card without authorization.

Paxum, like all other service providers, identify "You" as being a "card number + an IP address + Cookies + a Device + Location Data + Spending Habbits", etc. When this data changes, such as new Geo location data for example, an alert is triggered and a score is applied. If the score is below a certain threshold, your card still works but you are notified like you were above. If your score exceeds a certain amount, your purchases could be limited or even halted until the service provider verifies that you are still you, and not some thief.

This isn't really weird - it may feel weird, but it's the new normal, Tools like these are necessary to protect data and funds. The best possible thing we can all do is to work with our service providers, and maintain the best security habbits we can such as strong passphrases, Multi-Factor Authentication, use Passkeys when they become available, etc.

I cut my Paxum card in pieces and closed my account years ago because those guys were crazy. I have a quiet and happy life since then. :2 cents:

Not a Paxum fan, never used it and never will... But most of my banks do this too and I appreciate it.
